Welcome back to another awesome Splinterlands post, and I hope all of you are doing pretty well in your lives and enjoying a great and beautiful day with your family and friends. For those of you who are passionately and actively playing this web3 card-based strategy game and continuously building your splinterlands NFT card and other asset collection, I believe all of you are currently grinding through the early phase of this ongoing ranked season and trying to reach your goal as soon as possible. If we take a quick look at the current ranked season timer, there are still around 12 days and 1 hour left before the season meets its reset point. So there is still plenty of time to climb up the trophy ladder, improve your trophy count, and push for your season goal for better rewards or even try to catch a leaderboard spot if you are feeling confident enough.

Now, talking about my own progress in the Frontier mode of this game, I am currently playing in the highest Gold I league tier with a trophy count of around 3,200. My goal for this season is to reach the 4,200 trophy mark first and then try pushing further for the leaderboard if all the things go well.

On the other hand, if we take a look at the weekly Frontier raffle, I have currently collected a total of 39 entries. With around 23 hours left before the raffle draw, I will try to increase this number to at least 48 entries before the timer runs out. Now, apart from that, I also opened 6 Foundation packs today that I earned from the last two days of daily missions. The results were quite decent, as I pulled 1 epic card, 8 rare cards, including 3 Archons, 1 gold foil common, and the rest were common cards. Overall, a pretty satisfying set of pulls, I would say.

Maud Stonefoot

Now moving forward, let us come to the main topic of this post, as today I will be talking about one of the most interesting low-cost monsters from the newest Escalation edition. As you have already seen in the title and thumbnail above, today I will be discussing the Maud Stonefoot. So if you are interested in learning more about this monster card, let us take a deeper dive without any further delay.

The Maud Stonefoot is a monster type card that was introduced in the game with the newest Escalation mini cardset edition. This monster belongs to the Water element and it comes from the Dwarf bloodline. By rarity, this card is a Legendary monster, so you will require a total of 11 CC cards in order to upgrade it to its maximum level. Now, if you want to use this monster in battles, you don’t need to spend any mana at all, as it costs 0 mana, which already makes it extremely special and flexible in team building. The attack type of this monster is Magic, and despite having zero mana cost, it still offers solid stats at higher levels. At its maximum level, this monster gains one unique ability, which I will explain later in this post. Let us now take a closer look at its league-wise stats and abilities below.

BRONZE

At level 1, this monster starts with very basic stats that consist of 1 magic attack at 1 speed with 1 health. At this stage, it does not have any abilities, but considering its zero mana cost, even these stats can be useful.

SILVER

When you upgrade this monster to level 2, its health increases and it now holds 1 magic attack at 1 speed with 2 health. At this level, it unlocks its only ability called Bloodline Pact. This ability creates a risk and reward type mechanic depending on how you build your lineup with it.

BLOODLINE PACT – Allied units that share this unit's bloodline gain +1 power when any of them defeats an enemy and take 1 true damage when any of them is defeated. If this unit is defeated, allied units that share its bloodline receive 2 damage and lose all the power gained from this ability.

GOLD

As this monster gets upgraded further and reaches level 3, its stats improve and it now carries 1 magic attack at 3 speed with 3 health. The increase in speed makes it more reliable in battles.

DIAMOND / CHAMPION

Finally, when you upgrade this monster to its maximum level of 4, it becomes much more impactful. It now holds 2 magic attack at 3 speed with 4 health. For a 0 mana monster, this is extremely impressive and can add meaningful damage to your lineup.

Last but not least, I think this monster is one of the most unique cards in the game. First of all, it costs absolutely 0 mana, which means you can include it in your lineup even when you have no mana left. It is also very useful in low mana limit matches. Another huge advantage is its magic attack. At max level, it reaches 2 magic damage, which directly hits enemy health and is quite rare for a zero-cost monster. On top of that, its improved speed and health make it more reliable than you would expect. However, its Bloodline Pact ability is a bit tricky. On one hand, it can boost the power of your allied units if they share the same bloodline and successfully defeat enemies. But on the other hand, it also introduces risk, as your team can take damage when allies are defeated, and even more punishment if this monster itself goes down. So you need to build your lineup carefully around this ability to make the most out of it. Overall, I think the Maud Stonefoot is a very interesting and strategic card that offers great value for zero mana, but requires smart usage to unlock its full potential. What do you think?
