Splinterlands | The DESOLATION is a Powerhouse of Attack and Abilities
Hello Splinterlands fam!
I guess you all are doing well in your lives and spending an amazing time with your family and friends. If you also happen to be a splinterlands game player reading this post, then you have come to the right spot, my friends, and I'm guessing that you are playing this web3 strategic game on a daily basis and working seriously on those daily ranked quests, tournaments, frontier and brawls. While you are all focused on growing your in-game item collection, I hope you are also keeping an eye on every playable format and playing enough to maximise your earning potential. If we take a look at the ongoing ranked season’s timer right now, it reveals that we only have around 6 days and 21 hours around time in hand, before this current season meets its end. So, I think that by now, all of you who are actively playing in this season, all of you must be busy pushing and shoving your trophy count as high as you can send it. Anyways, whatever seasonal goal you are working in right now, whether it is to enter a particular league tier and loot those lucrative reward loot chests, or to compete against the OGs in the game and secure a spot at the top champion leaderboard, I wish you all the best for these upcoming tense full days and hope you reach there faster and easier this time.
Now, talking about myself, I am, as usual, playing the frontier mode on a daily basis and trying to build a complete max level foundation deck for myself. I have almost reached my goal; just a handful of epic cards are yet to be upgraded to their max levels. Now, if you are probably new to the game and don't know about this gameplay mode, the frontier mode in splinterlands is a completely free to play mode, which means you do not need to invest anything in the form of cards or tokens in order to start playing this format. However, playing this and progressing in this game and winning foundation edition cards or packs from daily rewards can potentially earn you money for your efforts. Anyways, for me, right now I am playing at the highest Gold I league tier with a trophy count of 3,640. With another week in hand, my current aim in this frontier season is to push my trophy count enough to enter and secure a seat in the leaderboard. Let’s see how it goes, and as we come near the season end, where the battle arena literally becomes a bloodbath.
Desolation
Now, moving forward, let me come to the main topic of this post, as today, I will be talking about another awesome Conclave Arcana card with you all. As you have already seen in the thumbnail above, today we will be discussing the Desilation. So, if you are interested in knowing more about this card, then let’s take a dive without any further ado.
The Desolation is a monster type card, which was first seen in splinterlands with the launch of the latest conclave arcana edition core edition card-set. This monster belongs to the dragon element and it comes from the undead bloodline. This monster costs a whopping 11 mana to be used in battles, so you can ideally fit this card in your lineup when playing medium to high mana limit matches. By rarity, it is a legendary type card, so you would require a total of 11 cc cards in order to upgrade this card to its max level. Apart from a big ranged attack, this monster card also has a good defensive combo of armour and health with high speed. Apart from that, it also features not 1 or 2, but 5 abilities at its max level, which I will discuss later in this post. Let us now take a further look at this card’s league-wise stats and abilities to find out more below.
BRONZE
Even at level 1, this monster card possesses a string of stats, which consists of 4 ranged attack power at 4 speed with 4 armour and 8 health. Not only that, but it also gets 2 abilities since its initial level called Flying and Enrage, both of which will help you really well in the battle arena.
FLYING - +25% chance to evade physical attacks. No effect if the attacker also has flying. Immune to earthquakes.
ENRAGE - +50% melee power and speed (rounded up) if not at full health.
SILVER
When you upgrade this monster card to level 2, it receives an increased health bar and now carries 4 ranged attack power at 4 speed with 4 armour and 9 health. Apart from that, it also gets a new ability called Wingbreak.
WINGBREAK - Always target the first Flying enemy unit regardless of the position, abilities, or modifiers. +2 damage if the target has Flying.
GOLD
As this monster gets upgraded further and reaches level 3, it gets an increased attack stat and now possesses a powerful stat consisting of 5 ranged attack power at 4 speed with 4 armour and 9 health. Not only that, but it also gains a new ability at this level called Piercing.
PIERCING - Damage in excess of the target’s armour is applied to health.
DIAMOND / CHAMPION
Finally, when this monster card reaches its max level of 4, it gets further increased overall stats of 5 ranged attack power at 5 speed with 4 armour and 9 health. Gladly, it also receives a new ability at its max level called the Spite.
SPITE - When defeated, 100% chance to counterattack.
Last but not least, as you can clearly see, this monster is a powerhouse of attack and abilities, and now you know why this monster’s mana cost is so high. Apart from the massive 5 range attack from level 3 onwards, I really liked its enrage, wingbreak and piercing ability, all of which will help you differently in the game. So, I think this monster is a must-have for competitive playing. What do you think?

I especially found the Flying, Wingbreak, and Pierce abilities part quite interesting. It seems like it would be a really strong card for competitive battles.
