Welcome back to another fresh and awesome Splinterlands post everyone, and I hope all of you are doing pretty great in your lives and enjoying an amazing weekend with your loved ones. For those of you who are still actively playing this amazing card-based strategy game on a daily basis and constantly growing your NFT card and other assets collection, I hope you are also playing in this current one actively and hope your ranked season has been rewarding so far. If we take a quick peek, the current ranked season now has only around 19 hours and 21 minutes remaining before it finally comes to an end. That means we are almost at the finish line, and most players are probably making one last push, if not already reached their goals, to squeeze out as many rewards as possible before the season meets its reset point.

Talking about my own progress in the Frontier mode of this game, I am currently battling in the highest Gold I league and sitting at 3,980 trophies. My goal is still the same as always, reaching 4,200 trophies before the season ends. However, with so little time and battle energy remaining, I don't think a leaderboard push will be possible this time. Still, I will try my best to finish the season with the highest trophy count possible. Now, looking at the weekly raffle progress, I currently have 54 entries collected. There are only around 18 hours and 33 minutes remaining before the raffle ends, and since I am running quite low on battle energy, I will probably manage another 3 to 6 entries tomorrow before it closes. Hopefully, I can finish somewhere around 57 to 60 entries this time.

Talking about today's Frontier Daily Wheel rewards, I landed on a Carnival Skin, but unfortunately, I already owned that cosmetic item earlier from the wheel. Thankfully, instead of receiving a duplicate, the game compensated me with 120 Sparks, which is always appreciated. After today's reward, my total Sparks balance has now increased to 17,696, and I am slowly getting closer to my next big milestone of 20k.

Apart from that, today I opened just 3 Foundation Packs that I earned from today's daily mission rewards. Unfortunately, luck wasn't really on my side this time. I only managed to pull 3 Rare cards, while the remaining cards were all regular Common cards. Nothing too exciting, but that's how RNG works sometimes.

Now moving on to today's featured monster, I would like to introduce another interesting card from the newest Escalation mini card set. As you have already seen in the title and thumbnail above, today we will be taking a closer look at the Obsidian Dreadcore.
The Obsidian Dreadcore belongs to the Dragon element and comes from the Golem bloodline. It is classified as an Epic monster card, meaning players need a total of 46 CC cards to fully upgrade it to its maximum level. This monster costs only 5 mana, making it surprisingly affordable considering how much offensive power it brings into battle. It uses Melee attacks, but thanks to one of its starting abilities, it can attack from any position on the battlefield. Besides its impressive attack power, it also gains several abilities that specifically weaken enemy melee monsters, making it one of the strongest anti-melee cards introduced in the Escalation mini set. Let us now take a closer look at its stats and abilities across different leagues.

At Level 2, the Obsidian Dreadcore possesses 3 Melee attack, 3 Speed, and 5 Health. Right from the beginning, it comes with two useful abilities: Charge and Determined.

CHARGE – Can use melee attacks from any position.

DETERMINED – Once per round, after missing an attack, makes a second attack against the same target.
At Level 3, the monster maintains the same 3 Melee attack, 3 Speed, and 5 Health, but unlocks another useful ability called Demoralise.

DEMORALISE – Reduces the Melee attack power of all enemy units by 1.
At Level 5, Obsidian Dreadcore becomes much stronger with 5 Melee attack, 3 Speed, and 5 Health. At this stage, it gains another powerful anti-melee ability.

ENFEEBLE – Reduces the target enemy's Melee attack by 1 after every successful attack.
At Level 6, the Obsidian Dreadcore reaches its maximum form with 6 Melee attacks, 3 Speed, and 5 Health. At this level, it unlocks its final ability called Kindred Spirit: Execute.

KINDRED SPIRIT: EXECUTE – At the start of battle, adjacent units with Kindred gain the Execute ability.
Last but not least, I think the Obsidian Dreadcore is one of the best anti-melee monsters released in the Escalation mini set. The first thing that immediately catches my attention is its incredible attack power. At maximum level, it reaches a massive 6 Melee attack, which is simply devastating for a monster costing only 5 mana. Combined with the Charge ability, this monster can continue launching powerful melee attacks every single round, regardless of where it is positioned on the battlefield. Another ability that I really like is Determined. Missing an attack can sometimes be frustrating, especially against fast opponents, but this ability gives the monster another opportunity to strike the same target during the same round. That extra chance can often make the difference between eliminating an enemy and letting it survive. The real highlight, however, is the combination of Demoralise and Enfeeble. These two abilities work beautifully together against melee-heavy lineups. Demoralise immediately weakens every enemy melee monster at the start of battle, while Enfeeble keeps reducing the attack power of the specific enemy it hits. Together, they make Obsidian Dreadcore one of the strongest counters to melee-focused teams. Finally, the Kindred Spirit: Execute ability provides another excellent layer of utility. If you position Kindred monsters next to Obsidian Dreadcore, they will receive the Execute ability, making it much easier to finish off weakened enemy monsters before they get another opportunity to attack. Overall, I believe this monster offers an outstanding combination of offensive power, battlefield utility, and anti-melee capabilities, making it a fantastic addition to any Dragon lineup.
I hope you enjoyed reading my post about OBSIDIAN DREADCORE. Let me know your thoughts about today's post in the comments section below, and I look forward to seeing you all in my next post.

@mango-juice, hitting that 4,200 counts in frontier ranked is not an easy task even with maxed cards. But the fun is awesome. Well done warrior!👍
