If you are here on Hive chain for a while, been active on the chain and creating, curating content, then you already have an idea of the popular communities and projects or people that you must have come accessed and most highly probably, you mist have played Splinterlands at least once. This game mo doubt has always been an evolving project, and with the upcoming and heavily hyped Land 1.75 update, we are about to witness one of the biggest changes in Land section yet. If you don't know, Lands are no longer just for producing grain or SPS and staking your precious cards, as they will soon introduce new crafting materials that will be crucial for creating powerful items and abilities, being in effect after the game’s ongoing Maintenance period. This major new change in Land will make battles more strategic in the future, as players will also need to focus on item crafting and skill usage rather than just card stats and abilities for winning matches.
One of the major additions in this game via this ongoing 1.75 land update is the introduction of three new resources in Land economy - Wood, Stone, and Iron. These newly launched materials will play a significant role in land development and the production as well, making the land ownership even more valuable but more complex. Unlike Grain or SPS if have amazing Land plots, which were the primary resources before, these new materials will be added and will be much rarer and harder to accumulate, increasing their market worth and importance in the game's economy.
The terrain type of your land will now have a direct impact on your land’s resource production. Certain types of terrains will be more suitable for generating specific resources among the new ones, meaning players will now have to carefully plan how they develop their land production. Worksites built on these plots will be more terrain-dependent from now on, introducing a new layer of strategy and complexity to the overall land management.
Another crucial change that is coming with this Land update is that any grain-producing plot on incompatible terrain will automatically convert to either Wood, Stone, or Iron upon its first harvest, after the update goes live which is done by now as you are reading this post. This step was taken to ensure that all lands would maintain their value and usability, preventing them from becoming liabilities in future. This change as expected, will create a more balanced resource distribution and encourage deep strategic planning when utilising land assets.
Now, when it comes to production rate, each of these different resources will have unique output levels per production point per hour. Grain production remains unchanged at 0.02 per point per hour. However, the new resources will have significantly lower production rates that Grain -
This strategically crafted lower production rate for these resources further increases the rarity of these 3 in-game items - Wood, Stone and Iron, making them highly valuable in-game assets and marketplace.
Now moving on and taking a look at my own invesntory, I currently own a common-type land that can produce grain. For a while, I had left my land inactive while focusing on renting my cards for DEC tokens. However, with the arrival of this mega update, I am planning to re-activate my land plot and stake five of my best suitable cards, in order to maximise the production. This will allow me to start accumulating these new resources as soon as possible, so that I am not left behind in this evolving game economy.
In addition to my sole land plot and required cards, I also have about 335,000 grain sitting idle in my lands wallet, which I earned from my previous land operations and I guess it will also be useful when running Land again. With land prices currently fluctuating around $31.50 for the minimum buy order and $29 for the minimum sell order, these new resources are expected to bring the valuation a big higher in near future because of the growing interest in Lands, as these newly launched Resources will produce new things which will also be much rarer and more valuable.
Last but not least, since these newly introduced materials (example - Wood, Stone and Iron will also be required for generating Research and SPS while running Land, I am guessing for a surge in demand in Land Plots and all these in-game assets, making them high traded assets on market which will hopefully attract even more of both players and investors to the game. However, only time will tell if this mega update becomes a hit or flop in future. So, let’s experience that together while running our lands!

Can they finally be giving the Lands in Splinterlands the attention they deserve? It's been a long time with no direction and only a “preview” of updates.
With this new update, I hope so, but let’s see what community feels after testing the mew land for a while !pimp !BBH
