If you are into Splinterlands, then you may have witnessed the increasing hype around Land, especially after the long-awaited 1.75 Update. With this new update, there are a lot of new things introduced in Lands, introducing 3 new resources - Wood, Stone and Iron, and also bringing changes in the Land UI and gameplay while adding more liquidity pools supporting these new resources. If you are a land owner, then you must have coped yourself up with these changes and if you are new to this and interested in Lands, I think right now may be the right time to start your journey in Lands. Now speaking of land, after the Land 1.75 update went Live, I also decided to use my sole unused Land plot and start producing resource again but as I shared in my last post, while trying with different cards to tweak my maximum production rate, I ended up adding 3 days of cooldown period on multiple great cards. So, my silly mistake forced me to wait for another 3 days until the cooldown period ends in order to start production on my land again and gladly, those 3 days finally ended today. So in this post, I will be reviving my land and starting production again and share the experience, steps and tips with you all. So, if you are interested, let's take a dive without any further ado.
Now, I only own 1 piece of Land plot that I bought long ago and ran it for a while and produced a decent amount of Grain resource on it. But later, I again focused on playing and hence, I kept the Grain but unstaked all the 5 cards from my land. Only recently did I grow some interest in Land again because of the awesome new update and decided to run it again. Now, talking about my land, it is located in the Hamford region, which can be found on the east side of the Arcane River in the lower flats. The land plot falls under Track no 10 and my Land region number is 121.
The terrain type of my Land is Lake and by rarity, it is a common type of Land, neutral in nature and produces the Grain resource. I wish I had a Shard producing Land, but it is what it is and now I am thinking of saving some money and buying a claimed Land plot directly from peakmonsters that produces shards in the future. Anyways, now moving on, let’s focus on my Land characteristics below.
Rarity - My Land is a common type of Land, hence it doesn't have any production boost by default. Higher rarity lands will provide you with an increased boost to that plot’s resource production, but as expected, they will cost more than a common type of Land. However, rarity boosts don't apply to the land for constructions or building upgrades on it.
Resource - My land also doesn't have any resource boost. If it were a Magical plot, it would have. A 100% production boost to research, while occupied lands would have a 100% production boost to SPS mining. But as expected, getting them from Land plot claims is very rare and is costly to buy directly.
Element Synergy and Penalty - When you choose cards to be staked on land to begin production, certain element cards give an extra production boost and certain element cards apply a penalty and reduce production rate for a particular land. Only the neutral element card acts neutral on Lands and neither gives a boost nor applies a penalty while being staked in land. In my case, Earth and Water element cards give a flat 10% production boost on my land and on the other hand, Fire and Dragon element cards apply a penalty and reduce the production rate by a whopping -50%. So, for my land, it would be wise to choose only cards that belong to the water and earth elements.
Moving on, let's visit the worksite, which is your work station for the land and the place where you stake and unstake cards, add or remove Runi, titles and Totems. Now for my Land, I already had the Power Core left, which I reused in my land, but you can also choose to select a Runi card instead of Power Core for more advantage and boost. Now for cards, I choose the best cards I had for my land and here is the breakdown of them along with other stats.
Slot 1 - Here I staked a max level Vampire Bat card from Chaos Legion edition. It is a common type, but a gold foil card at max level that consists of 38 BCX. Its production rate is 2,200 and gives +10% adjustment on resource production.
Slot 2 - Here I staked a max level Tide Biter from the Chaos Legion Edition. It is an Epic-type card and also a Gold Foil at max level that consists of 10 BCX. Its production rate is 6,600 am, just like the Bat, it also gives +10% adjustment on resource Production.
Slot 3 - At the third slot, I staked a max level Pelacor Mercenary from the same Chaos Legion Edition. It is a common type of card and in Gold Foil at max level that consists of 38 BCX. Its production rate is 2,200 and gives the same +10% adjustment on resource Production.
Slot 4 - On slot 4, I staked a max level Pelacor Bandit from the same Chaos Legion Edition. It is a Common type card in Gold Foil and at max level that consists of 38 BCX. Its production rate is 2,200 and gives the same +10% adjustment on resource Production.
Slot 5 - Finally, in Slot 5, I staked a max level Djinn Oshannus, which is also from the Chaos Legion Edition. It is a Legendary type card but a Regular Foil card at max level, which consists of 11 BCX. Its production rate is 1,650 and as usual, it gives +10% adjustment on resource Production.
Please note that I haven't used any Runi, Title, or Totems (artifacts) on my Land plot and hence, my resource production only depends upon my Cards. Anyway, after I successfully inserted all these 5 cards, which were the 5 best available cards to be used in my land, my production rate went from 0 to 297 grains per hour.
Now, after inserting the required 5 cards in my land plot, the only thing that remains is to add the power of Dark Energy by staking a certain amount of DEC tokens in my land. For my land, I had to stake a total of 50k DEC in my land, which I purchased from the Hive-Engine market and used on my land to begin the production. Please note that staking and unstaking DEC on lands are immediate and do not have any type of cooldown period, unlike cards, which undergo a 3-day cooldown period.
Finally, after executing all the required tasks, my Land finally became ready and started producing Grain. As you can see from the screenshot above, I have built the worksite on my land successfully, working with 100% efficiency and I also filled the Land with the required 50k DEC tokens. My production rate is 267.3 grains per hour and no Research or SPS. Also, the Grain cost per hour on Land is currently 135, which is the estimated amount of grain my workers need per hour to work and produce resources.
