Splinterlands Kyraseth Nythlarian | The 0 Mana Opportunity Monster

Hello my fellow Splinterlands Warriors,

Welcome back to another fresh and juicy Splinterlands post everyone, and I hope all of you are doing pretty well in your lives and enjoying a wonderful weekend with your family and loved ones. As always, I am back again with another card analysis post from this amazing Web3 card-based strategy game that keeps rewarding us with new cards, packs, raffles, and exciting battles every day. If we take a quick look, the current ranked season still has around 7 days and 19 hours remaining before it ends, so there is still plenty of time left for all of us to climb the trophy ladder and improve our season rewards and reach our goals before the time hits zero.

Talking about my own progress in the Frontier mode of this game, I am currently battling in the highest Gold I league and sitting at 3,800 trophies. My goal remains the same as always. First, I want to reach the 4,200 trophy mark and then, if I still have enough battle energy and time remaining, I will try to push for a leaderboard position. It will not be easy, but there is still enough time left in the season. On another note, I spun the Frontier Daily Wheel today and received 150 Sparks along with an extra 30 Sparks bonus. Every bit of Sparks helps in the long run and thanks to today's rewards, my total Sparks balance has now reached 16,286.

Now, looking at the weekly raffle progress, I currently have 51 entries collected. There are only around 18 hours and 38 minutes remaining before the raffle ends, so I am planning to push a little harder and hopefully finish somewhere between 57 and 60 entries this time.

Apart from that, I also opened 6 Foundation Packs that I earned from the last two days of daily mission rewards. The results were decent overall as I managed to pull 1 Epic card, 6 Rare cards including Archons, 1 Gold Foil Common card, while the remaining cards were regular foil Common cards.

Kyraseth Nythlarian

Now moving on to today's featured monster, I would like to introduce another interesting card from the newest Escalation mini cardset edition. As you have already seen in the title and thumbnail above, today we will be taking a closer look at Kyraseth Nythlarian.

Kyraseth Nythlarian belongs to the Death element and comes from the Elf bloodline. It is a Legendary monster card and therefore requires a total of 11 CC cards to reach its maximum level. The most interesting thing about this monster is definitely its mana cost because it costs absolutely 0 mana to deploy in battle. Cards with zero mana cost are always valuable in Splinterlands because they allow players to fill empty lineup slots without spending additional mana. Despite costing nothing, this monster still possesses respectable stats and useful abilities that can make a noticeable impact on the battlefield. Let us now take a closer look at its stats and abilities across different leagues.

BRONZE

At level 1, Kyraseth Nythlarian comes with 1 Melee attack, 1 Speed, and 1 Health. At this level, it gains the Opportunity ability, which immediately makes it much more useful than most players would expect from a 0 mana monster.

OPPORTUNITY – Targets the enemy unit with the least health.

SILVER

At level 2, the monster keeps its 1 Melee attack and 1 Speed while its Health increases to 2. At this level, it unlocks its second and final ability, Bloodline Pact.

BLOODLINE PACT – Allied units that share this unit's bloodline gain +1 power whenever any of them defeats an enemy and take 1 true damage whenever any of them is defeated. If this unit is defeated, allied units sharing its bloodline receive 2 damage and lose all power gained from this ability.

GOLD

At level 3, Kyraseth Nythlarian becomes noticeably stronger with 1 Melee attack, 3 Speed, and 3 Health. No new ability is gained at this level, but the additional Speed and Health make it much more capable of surviving longer and landing Opportunity attacks.

DIAMOND / CHAMPION

At level 4, Kyraseth Nythlarian reaches its maximum form with 2 Melee attack, 3 Speed, and 4 Health. While it gains no additional abilities at this stage, the improved stats are extremely impressive for a monster that still costs absolutely 0 mana to deploy.

Last but not least, I think Kyraseth Nythlarian is one of the most interesting zero mana monsters introduced in the Escalation mini set. The biggest advantage of this card is obviously its mana cost. Whenever you have already spent your entire mana budget but still have an empty slot available in your lineup, this monster can immediately provide extra value without costing anything. At maximum level, having 2 Melee attack, 3 Speed, and 4 Health on a 0 mana monster is honestly quite impressive. Another feature that I really like is the Opportunity ability. Instead of attacking random targets, Kyraseth Nythlarian focuses on the enemy monster with the lowest health. When combined with other Opportunity monsters, it becomes very effective at quickly removing vulnerable backline targets and disrupting the opponent's strategy.

Now moving on, the Bloodline Pact ability is also quite interesting, although it comes with both rewards and risks. If you build a lineup around monsters that share the same bloodline, they can gain additional power whenever one of them defeats an enemy. However, there is a downside as well. Allied monsters sharing the bloodline will take damage whenever one of them is defeated, and if Kyraseth Nythlarian itself goes down, they receive even more damage and lose all the bonus power gained from the ability. Because of this, the ability can be extremely powerful in the right lineup, but it requires careful planning to avoid the drawbacks. Overall, I believe Kyraseth Nythlarian is an excellent utility monster and a very valuable addition to any collection. Zero mana cards are always useful, and the combination of Opportunity plus Bloodline Pact gives this monster much more strategic value than its tiny mana cost would suggest.

I hope you enjoyed reading my post about KYRASETH NYTHLARIAN. Let me know your thoughts about today's post in the comments section below, and I look forward to seeing you all in my next post.
