Welcome back to another awesome Splinterlands post, and I hope all of you are doing pretty well in your lives and enjoying another amazing day with your loved ones. Now, if you are actively engaging in this strategy-based Web3 card game, then I hope you are actively playing in this ongoing ranked and Frontier season as well. If we take a quick peek at the clock of the current ranked season, we still have 9 days and 5 hours left before it ends, so there is still a good amount of time to push forward to your goal, and whether it is to reach a particular league tier and collect some shiny rewards, or to book a seat at the top champion leaderboard. I wish you all the best of luck and hope you reach your goals in time.

Now, talking about my own progress in the Frontier mode, as usual, I am currently battling in the Gold league and sitting at around 3320 trophies. My current target is to reach 4200 trophies first and then try to push towards the leaderboard. Moving on to the weekly raffle, I currently have 18 entries, and there are 6 days and 18 hours left before the raffle takes place. My target is still to reach somewhere between 54 and 57 entries, so I have quite a few more entries to collect before the deadline. Hopefully, I will be able to reach my target this time as well.

Now, today is also my 141st Frontier Wheel streak day, and glad to say that I am still keeping the streak alive. Today, I received another 50 + 13 bonus Sparks, bringing my total Sparks balance to 21,057. I will continue checking in regularly and maintain my streak, hopefully.

Today, I also opened 8 Foundation-type packs that I had won from the rewards of the last 3 days. This time, the pack opening gave me 2 Epic cards, 1 Gold Foil Rare, 9 Rare cards including 2 Archons, 1 Gold Foil Common, and the rest were regular Common cards. Getting 2 Epics and a Gold Foil Rare from these packs was definitely a nice result, and I am quite happy with the overall opening.

Now moving on to today's featured monster, let us take a closer look at another interesting monster from the newest Reward card set. As you have already seen in the title above, today we will be discussing Kazira Vaelstrik. So, if you are interested in knowing more about this powerful Dragon monster and its abilities, then let's take a deep dive without any further ado.
Kazira Vaelstrik is a monster-type card that was first seen in the game with the launch of the latest Reward card set. This monster belongs to the Dragon element and it comes from the Djinn bloodline. It is an Epic monster, so it would require a total of 46 CC cards to be upgraded to max level. It costs a massive 10 mana to be used in battles, so you can use it when playing medium to high mana limit matches. It deals Ranged damage to its opponents and at its maximum level, this monster possesses four abilities, giving it a combination of strong offensive power, heavy defence, and some very useful defensive abilities.

At Level 2, Kazira Vaelstrik possesses 3 Ranged attack, 4 Speed, 5 Armor, and 8 Health. Even at the Bronze level, this monster already has some very impressive stats for a Ranged attacker and comes with Flying and Immunity.

FLYING – Has a +25% chance to evade physical attacks. This has no effect if the attacker also has Flying, and the monster is immune to Earthquake.

IMMUNITY – Provides immunity to magic debuffs and Cripple.
At Level 3, Kazira Vaelstrik possesses 3 Ranged attack, 4 Speed, 5 Armor, and 8 Health. Its basic stats remain the same at this level, but this is where the monster unlocks Close Range, which makes it much more flexible on the battlefield.

CLOSE RANGE – Allows this monster to use Ranged attacks from the first position.
At Level 5, Kazira Vaelstrik possesses 4 Ranged attack, 4 Speed, 6 Armor, and 9 Health. At this level, it receives another increase in both attack, Armor, and Health, making its already heavy defensive setup even stronger.
At Level 6, Kazira Vaelstrik reaches 5 Ranged attack, 4 Speed, 6 Armor, and 9 Health. It also unlocks its final ability, Last Ward, adding another layer of protection against enemy abilities that trigger when a monster is defeated.

LAST WORD – Provides immunity to Final Rest, so resurrection-style enemy abilities that trigger on defeat cannot activate.
First of all, I think the stats and abilities of Kazira Vaelstrik easily explain why this monster comes with a high 10 mana cost. This is not a cheap monster that you can simply throw into any low mana battle. But when you have enough mana available, you get a very powerful Ranged attacker with high attack power, heavy-duty defence, plenty of Armor and Health, and 4 Speed. Even before reaching the maximum level, the combination of 5 Armor and 8 Health at Bronze level is already pretty impressive. At the maximum level, it reaches 5 Ranged attack with 6 Armor and 9 Health, which gives it a very strong overall presence on the battlefield. Then we have Flying, which is another useful defensive ability on this monster. It gives Kazira Vaelstrik a 25% chance to evade physical attacks when the enemy attacker does not have Flying. This means that the ability can potentially save the monster from a couple of physical attacks during a battle. On top of that, Flying also makes the monster immune to Earthquake, so it does not have to worry about taking the 2 damage every round from that ruleset. The next ability is Immunity, and I think this one fits very nicely with the rest of the monster's defensive abilities. According to its ability description, Immunity protects magic debuffs and Cripple. This means that the enemy cannot simply rely on those effects to weaken Kazira Vaelstrik. Then at Silver level, we get Close Range, and this is probably the ability that changes how you can use Kazira Vaelstrik the most. Normally, a Ranged attacker cannot use its Ranged attack from the first position, but Close Range allows this monster to continue using its Ranged attack even when placed at the front. This means that you can actually use Kazira Vaelstrik as a front-line defender when the battle situation demands it. Finally, at Diamond and Champion levels, Kazira Vaelstrik receives its final ability, Last Word. This provides immunity to Final Rest, meaning that resurrection-style enemy abilities that normally trigger when a monster is defeated cannot activate against it.
Overall, I think Kazira Vaelstrik is a very powerful and interesting Epic monster, but its 10 mana cost means that you need to plan your lineup carefully before using it. The combination of high Ranged attack, 4 Speed, heavy Armor, high Health, Flying, Immunity, Close Range, and Last Word gives this monster a lot of defensive and offensive value. For me, the most interesting part is definitely Close Range because it allows a powerful Ranged attacker, so I think Kazira Vaelstrik can be a very interesting choice for those big matches.
