Splinterlands | Finally upgraded my Foundation Water archon to max level

Hello Splinterlands fam!

Welcome to another Splinterlands post, guys and I hope you all are doing well in your lives and spending a cold and cosy day with your loved ones. Now, for those of you who play splinterlands regularly and seriously, I think most of you who are playing in this ongoing ranked season have already cleared all the obstacles and reached the goals that you set for this season. Because taking a peek at this current ranked season’s clock, only around 10 hours left before this season meets its end. So, whether you were aiming for a particular league tier or wanted to secure a seat in the top champion leaderboard, I think you have already accomplished that mission. But in case you have yet to reach there, my friend, what are you doing? There’s only a handful of hours left and of course, the season end bloodbath has also begun, where all the top OG players from across the world have become super active in the game and are appearing with their unbeatable decks and battle strategies. Anyway, if you still have plenty of battle energies left, I would say give it one last try if you haven't met your goal yet and pray for the best!

Now talking about the frontier mode, if you have been reading my previous posts, you know how excited I am with this newly launched gameplay mode in splinterlands. I have been playing this mode for quite a while now and have already maxed out many of my foundation edition cards to their max levels, and only a few more to join the max team. The frontier mode is also a ranked format gameplay with trophies, leagues and a top leaderboard and it will also finish another ranked season along with the main ranked format. Now, for me, I am, as usual, playing in the highest gold I league tier in the game with a current trophy count of 3,700 and gladly, I have come a little but further with my trophy count in this season than in the previous one. However, there’s a long way to reach the top leaderboard and I am hopeful that once I make a complete max-level foundation collection and practice well with them, I can teach the top leaderboard in frontier mode one day soon. Let me continue playing and see when my dream finally becomes true.

Now, as I said above, in order to reach the top Champion Leaderboard, owning a complete max level collection is very important, as I have experienced, because one low level card with 1 low stats can make you lose to your opponent, who is using the max level card. I have witnessed this often in frontier mode, maybe because foundation edition cards are so easy to acquire from playing and also cheap enough to buy bulk amounts from the market, so most of the high league level players have most, if not all, of their foundation cards in max level. I myself am also trying hard at this point to gather a fully max level Foundation card collection, because while I am still earning the highest possible daily mission rewards by continuously playing and holding my position in gold I league tier, if I can reach and secure a seat in the top leaderboard, I can earn a bunch of extra foundation packs and raffle entries, while dominating the battle arena with a eye catchy battle win rate. However, though foundation edition cards are generally cheap to buy, some of them are pretty rare to get from rewards and hence, become expensive on the market.

One such example is the water archon card Marial Singariel. This is the most expensive archon card in Foundation Edition, and right now, the minimum 1 CC card price of this archon, as listed in the market, is 0.225$. Now, for me, even after buying a few Marial cards in the past to upgrade my archon to level 3, this was my least upgraded archon card, because all the rest of mine are already max level. However, it is needless to say how important this archon card is in the frontier mode, because the water element is the most fierce attacking element in the frontier mode.

Now, for me, I was missing only 3 CC of Marial to upgrade my water archon to max level, so I finally decided to buy this remaining quantity and empower my deck with a max water archon. As you can see from the screenshot above, I instantly bought the cards from www.monstermarket.io and then upgraded my archon to max level 4.

Another great card that I was missing in my arsenal is the Giam Root, the legendary ranged attacker card from the Earth element. Even after playing for months, I only received this card just one time from rewards, and it was time for me to finally upgrade it to max level and unlock its 2 ranged attack power.

As I went to check, I found out that CCs of this particular card are being sold in the market for 0.240$, so without wasting any more time, I immediately bought my remaining 2 CC cards and upgraded them to max level. Now, Ny Giam can bring more damage and even dent the ones with shield ability.

There are also a few other rare and common cards that I upgraded to their max levels, as they were selling for a cheap rate, as you can see from the screenshots above, and at this point, only a handful of the Epic cards remain to be upgraded to their max levels. Let’s see how fast I can upgrade them too, while practising more seriously and aiming for the leaderboard. The frontier mode is really fun to play and gets addictive at an exponential speed as you start building your deck and progressing in the game. What’s your feeling about this mode by the way?
