Splinterlands | Finally Received my First Jackpot Foundation card

Hello Splinterlands fam!

Welcome to another splinterlands post and I guess all of you are doing well in your lives and enjoying an amazing weekend with your loved ones. Now, if you are a splinterlands player and play this game on a daily basis, then I hope you are currently focusing on your ranked season and also in those hard brawl and tournament matches. If we take a peek at the ongoing ranked season’s timer, there are still almost 13 days left for this ongoing season to end. So, we have around 2 weeks in hand and I hope each of you has already set a goal for yourselves and is working on it right now, whether it is to reach a particular league tier or to compete against the OGs for a glorious seat in the top champion leaderboard. But though it seems that we have plenty of time in hand, remember that the time flies faster in splinterlands than you think, and even before you blink, you will reach the end of the season and witness a bloodbath happening all around you. So, be sure to reach your goals before time and also keep an eye on your battle energies. I wish you all the best for this ongoing season and hope you reach there sooner this time.

On the other hand, let’s now talk about the Frontier mode and for those who are hearing about this mode for the first time, it is the newest mode in splinterlands which is completely free to play, where you do not require to invest anything to start playing this mode, but can earn valuable foundation cards or packs as rewards and sell them for DEC. Now taking a look at my own performance in frontier mode, right now I am playing at the highest Gold I league tier with a trophy count of 3,260. Having another almost 13 days in hand, I will again try this time to touch the 4,000 trophy mark and let’s see how it goes.

Now, the Frontier gameplay mode is again on the frontline, because just recently, the splinterlands team has released 4 new jackpot foundation cards, and players are going mad after these new beasts. These 4 new cards can only be earned from the daily mission rewards, or you can buy them from the market. These cards are rarer to get, with only 1.5% chance to receive any one of them while claiming each of the 3 daily mission rewards. So, as expected, they are selling for as expensive items in the splinterlands card market compared to other foundation cards.

I was, as usual, playing the frontier mode daily and continuously and when I first read about the jackpot card update, I was really excited, believing that I would finally get some cool rare cards for myself, leveraging my regular playing and claiming rewards every day. But when the update finally kicked in and after playing for the first few days and not getting any jackpot cards from the rewards, I was starting to get sad. I was already hurt by the weekly raffle draw, because even after playing consecutively for 22 raffles, I had not won anything so far. So, this new jackpot card thing sparked a new light in me, birthing hope that finally, I will win something cool. Though that dream didn't get fulfilled through the raffle, my luck finally did shine with the jackpot!

Yes, I am very happy and excited to share that it didn't take much time for me to obtain my first jackpot card. Just yesterday, I received my first jackpot foundation cards and though the foil type or rarity was just nothing fancy, I am really happy to receive my first jackpot card. It is a regular foil and common type card named Aimee Whisperwind. Now, let’s take a look at this card and find out what’s interesting about this monster.

image.png

The Aimee Whisperwind is a monster type card that got released just recently with the launch of the latest Foundation jackpot cards. This monster card belongs to the Water element and it comes from the Leonine bloodline. By rarity, it is a common type card, so it would require a total of 400 CC cards in order to upgrade this card to its max level. This card asks a whopping 9 mana cost to use this card in your lineup, so ideally, you can use this card when playing medium to high mana limit matches. The attack type of this card is melee and apart from a good attack power, high health and speed, this card also features 2 abilities - opportunity and fury. On one hand, the Opportunity ability targets the enemy unit with the least health, and on the other hand, the Fury deals double damage if the target has the Taunt ability.

As you can really see, this card has high attack power with opportunity ability, so for eliminating low health stat cards, this monster is very useful. On the other hand, this card also becomes deadly against taunt ability cards. Last but not least, with its high health and speed stat, it will be harder to kill. So, overall, I think this card is very important to have in your hand if you want to be competitive in Frontier mode. What do you think?

I hope you enjoyed reading my post about my first jackpot card. Let me know your thoughts about today's post in the comments section below, and I look forward to seeing you all in my next post.

If you are playing in free mode you can't sell anything. Even when you buy the game you can only sell frontier cards without "investing" (read funding the wealthy) and they have been made worthless due to the wealthy (including the multiple bots of the wealthy) buying their way to the top of the league early on and getting all the bonuses for doing so.

Until opponents are matched by power (owned, rented and delegated) it's not worth buying the game.
