Hello my fellow Splinterlands Warriors,

Welcome back to another awesome and cool Splinterlands post, and I hope all of you are doing pretty well in your lives and enjoying another amazing day with your family and friends while eagerly waiting for the upcoming weekend. Now, if you are one of those who are actively engaging in this Web3 card game, then I hope you are actively playing in this ongoing ranked and Frontier season as well. Now, looking at the clock of the current ranked season, we still have 12 days and 1 hour left before it ends, so there is still plenty of time to push and shove towards your goal, whether it is to reach a particular league tier and collect cool rewards, or to chase and secure a place at the top champion leaderboard. I wish you all best of luck and hope you reach there within time.

Now, talking about my own progress in the Frontier mode, as usual, I am currently battling in the highest Gold I league and sitting at around 2840 trophies. My current target is to reach 4200 trophies first and then try to push towards the leaderboard. Now, moving on to the weekly raffle, I currently have 42 entries, and there are only 1 day and 23 hours left before the raffle takes place. My target this time is to reach somewhere between 54 and 57 entries, so I still need to collect quite a few more before the deadline.

Today is also my 138th consecutive streak day, and glad to say that I am still getting the +25% bonus while receiving Sparks. Today, however, I received another 4 Frontier Energy, bringing my total Sparks balance to 19,744. I will continue playing regularly and hopefully make good progress during the remaining days of the season.

Today, I also opened 5 reward packs that I earned from the last 2 days' rewards. From those packs, I received 8 Rare cards, including 1 Archon, while the rest of the cards were all Common cards. It was not a huge opening, to be honest, but getting an Archon and several Rare cards is still a decent result.

Dragonfang Lancer

Now moving on to today's featured monster, let us take a closer look at another interesting monster from the newest Reward card set. As you have already seen in the title above, today we will be discussing Dragonfang Lancer, a ranged attacker that targets weak enemies. So, if you are interested in knowing more about this defensive Dragon monster and its abilities, then let's take a deep dive without any further ado.

Dragonfang Lancer is a monster type card that was first seen in the game with the launch of the latest reward card set. This monster belongs to the Dragon element and the Avian bloodline. It is a Rare monster, so it would require a total of 115 cc cards to be upgraded to max level. It costs 6 mana to be used in battles, so you can use it when playing medium to large mana limit matches. It deals Ranged damage to its opponents and at its maximum level, this monster possesses three abilities, giving it a combination of offensive targeting, defensive protection, and an ability that can adapt to the enemy team.

BRONZE

At Level 2, Dragonfang Lancer possesses 2 Ranged attack, 3 Speed, 2 Armor, and 5 Health. Even at the Bronze level, it already comes with Opportunity, allowing it to focus its attacks on the weakest enemy unit.

OPPORTUNITY – Targets the enemy unit with the least Health.

SILVER

At Level 4, Dragonfang Lancer possesses 2 Ranged attack, 3 Speed, 3 Armor, and 5 Health. Its Armor increases by 1 at this level, making this already defensive monster even more difficult to take down.

REFLEXES – After the first successful attack by an attacker against this unit, all subsequent attacks from that attacker against this unit miss for the rest of the round.

GOLD

At Level 6, Dragonfang Lancer possesses 2 Ranged attack, 3 Speed, 4 Armor, and 6 Health. At this level, it receives another increase in both Armor and Health, giving it a very solid defensive setup for a 6 mana monster.

DIAMOND / CHAMPION

At Level 8, Dragonfang Lancer reaches 3 Ranged attack, 3 Speed, 4 Armor, and 6 Health. It also unlocks its final ability, Mimic, which allows it to gain a random ability from the enemy team from the second round onward.

MIMIC – At the beginning of round 2 and each following round, gain a random ability from the enemy team.

My Opinion About the Monster

First of all, I really like the overall stats of Dragonfang Lancer for a 6 mana monster. It has a very good combination of armor and Health, while still maintaining 3 Speed and a decent Ranged attack. At the maximum level, it gets a decent 3 Ranged attack with a fat defence and good speed. So overall, I think this is a highly defensive monster that can still contribute meaningful damage to the battle. Then we have Opportunity, which is probably one of the most important abilities on this monster. Instead of simply attacking the enemy frontline, Dragonfang Lancer targets the enemy unit with the least Health. This can be extremely useful for picking off weak monsters, especially vulnerable backline units that may otherwise survive for several rounds. Then at Silver level, Dragonfang Lancer unlocks Reflexes, and this ability gives it another layer of protection. After the first successful attack from an attacker against this monster, all subsequent attacks from that same attacker against Dragonfang Lancer will miss for the rest of that round. For example, if an enemy monster can attack twice in the same round and its first attack successfully hits Dragonfang Lancer, its second attack against this monster will miss. This can be particularly useful against teams that depend on repeated attacks to eliminate a target quickly. Finally, at the Diamond and Champion levels, we get Mimic. Starting from the second round, Dragonfang Lancer gains a random ability from the enemy team at the beginning of each round. This makes the monster more interesting as the battle continues because its abilities can change depending on what the opponent has brought into the match.

Overall, I think Dragonfang Lancer is a very interesting 6 mana Ranged monster, especially for players who like defensive cards that can still contribute to the offense. It has solid Armor and Health, decent Speed, Opportunity for attacking weak targets, Reflexes for dealing with repeated attacks, and Mimic at the highest levels for additional flexibility. The combination makes it a monster that can potentially play both an offensive and defensive role depending on the battle. For me, the combination of Opportunity and Reflexes is particularly interesting because the monster can hunt down weak enemies while also making itself harder to eliminate.

138 días de racha y el +25% de bonus en Sparks es lo que realmente mueve la aguja acá, no el hype del Dragonfang. ¿Los 19,744 Sparks los venís acumulando para algún set específico o es puro hold hasta que el mercado muestre soporte?
