Welcome back to another fresh and juicy Splinterlands post, and I hope all of you are doing pretty well in your lives and enjoying an amazing day with your family and friends while eagerly waiting for the upcoming weekend. Now, if you are one of those hardcore players who are actively engaging in this strategic Web3 card game, then I hope you are actively playing in this ongoing ranked and Frontier season as well. Now, taking a quick peek at the clock of the current season, we still have 6 days and 22 hours left before it meets its end, so there is still enough time, I think, to push harder towards your goal. Now, whether it is to reach a particular league tier and collect those shiny and cool rewards, or to secure a glorious spot at the top of the leaderboard. I wish you all the best of luck and hope you reach your goals in time.

Now, talking about my own progress in the Frontier mode, as usual, I am currently battling in the highest Gold I league and sitting at around 3760 trophies. My current target is to reach 4200 trophies before the season ends. I am already getting a bit close to my target, so hopefully, I will be able to reach it within the remaining days. Now, moving on to the weekly raffle, I currently have 36 entries, and there are still 3 days and 21 hours left before the raffle takes place. My target is still to reach somewhere between 54 and 57 entries, so I need to collect quite a few more entries before the deadline.

Today is also my 143rd daily streak in the Frontier Wheels. First, I got a free spin along with 500 + 125 bonus Sparks. Then, in the second spin, I got 1 Frontier Energy. After all of that, my total Sparks balance is now 21,745. The streak is still going strong, and hopefully, I can continue it for many more days.

Today, I also opened 6 packs that I earned from the last 2 days' daily mission rewards. This time, I got 1 Legendary, 1 Epic, and 5 Rare cards, including 2 Archons, while the rest were Common cards. Getting a Legendary and an Epic from only 6 packs was definitely a nice result, and I am quite happy with this pack opening.

Now moving on to today's featured monster, let us take a closer look at another interesting monster from the newest Reward card set. As you have already seen in the title above, today we will be discussing Chuma Marandu, a deadly Sneak attacker. So, if you are interested in knowing more about this powerful Dragon monster and its abilities, then let's take a deep dive without any further ado.
Chuma Marandu is a monster type card that was first seen in splinterlands with the launch of the latest Reward card set. This monster belongs to the Dragon element, and it comes from the Ulund bloodline. It is a Legendary monster, so it would require a total of 11 CC cards to be upgraded to max level. It costs 8 mana to be used in battles, so you can use it when playing medium to high mana limit matches. It deals Melee damage to its opponents and, at its maximum level, this monster possesses four abilities, giving it a combination of strong offensive power, heavy defence, anti-Melee abilities, and the ability to remove several defensive effects from enemy monsters.

At Level 1, Chuma Marandu possesses 4 Melee attack, 3 Speed, 2 Armor, and 7 Health. Even at the Bronze level, it already has a strong attack along with decent Speed, Armor, and Health, while also coming with Sneak.

SNEAK – Targets the enemy unit in the last position.
At Level 2, Chuma Marandu possesses 4 Melee attack, 3 Speed, 2 Armor, and 8 Health. Its Health increases by 1 at this level, while it also unlocks Demoralize.

DEMORALIZE – Reduces the Melee attack of all enemy units by 1.
At Level 3, Chuma Marandu possesses 5 Melee attack, 3 Speed, 2 Armor, and 8 Health. It receives another increase in attack power at this level and also unlocks Retaliate.

RETALIATE – Has a 50% chance to counterattack a successful Melee attack.
At Level 4, Chuma Marandu possesses 5 Melee attack, 3 Speed, 4 Armor, and 9 Health. At the maximum level, it receives a significant increase in Armor and Health while unlocking its final ability, Expose.

EXPOSE – Has an 80% chance to remove Forcefield, Lookout, Deflect, Shield, Void, Void Armor, Cleanse, or Immunity after a successful attack. Expose will always remove Immunity first.
First of all, Chuma Marandu is a heavy defensive monster when you look at its overall stats. For 8 mana, you get a strong Melee attacker with a fat combination of Armor and Health, along with decent Speed. It starts with 4 Melee attack and 7 Health at Bronze, and eventually reaches 5 Melee attack, 4 Armor, and 9 Health at the maximum level. Then we have Sneak, which is probably the most obvious reason to use this monster. Sneak allows Chuma Marandu to target the enemy monster in the last position instead of simply attacking the frontline. This makes it a perfect choice when you want to take down rear attackers and other vulnerable monsters hiding at the back of the enemy lineup. At Silver level, we get Demoralize, which makes Chuma Marandu even more interesting against Melee-heavy enemy teams. This ability reduces the Melee attack of all enemy units by 1. So, when the opponent is relying heavily on Melee monsters, Chuma Marandu can weaken their overall attacking power while continuing to attack the enemy backline with Sneak. Then, at Gold level, we get Retaliate, which is another ability that works especially well against Melee attackers. Whenever an enemy Melee monster successfully attacks Chuma Marandu, it has a 50% chance to counterattack. This means the enemy has to think twice before attacking this monster with their Melee units because there is always a chance that Chuma Marandu will hit back immediately. Finally, at the Diamond and Champion levels, Chuma Marandu unlocks Expose. This is probably the most interesting ability on the monster because it has an 80% chance to remove several defensive abilities after a successful attack. These include Forcefield, Lookout, Deflect, Shield, Void, Void Armor, Cleanse, and Immunity. It will always remove Immunity first when Immunity is present.
Overall, I think Chuma Marandu is a very solid Legendary monster for its 8 mana cost. It has strong stats, Sneak for attacking the enemy backline, Demoralize for weakening Melee teams, Retaliate for hitting back against successful Melee attacks, and Expose for removing several powerful defensive abilities. I especially like the fact that its abilities cover both offence and defence.
