Splinterlands | Bought my share of Yaba’s Pickle cards

Hello Splinterlands fam!

I hope you are having an awesome time playing this amazing game and for those who play this game on a daily basis, I guess most of you have already reached your goals set for this ongoing ranked season. If we look at the season timer, only 3 days and 8 hours are left for this current ranked season to meet its end and after that, players will get rewarded for their performance throughout the season. So, in case you haven’t reached your goal, be it either to enter a particular league tier and claim those shiny reward chests or to secure a position in the champion leaderboard, be sure to work on it, because there’s not much time left. As for me, nowadays I rent out all my cards and earn passive income. Soon after the season ends, many of my cards will come back into my collection. Let’s see how much my cards will get rented for in the upcoming season, especially the newest Conclave Arcana edition cards, which are the new hot cakes in the market.

On the other hand, after a long wait, finally, the Yaba’s Pickle card sale is live on the official Splinterlands website and I guess most of the players and investors have already bought the cards allocated to them. The sale just started 3 days ago and will last for 27 more days, so if anyone had staked SPS in their splinterlands accounts during the screenshot and has been allocated certain BCXs of this card but haven't bought them yet, don't miss your chance and purchase your quota asap before the time runs out.

Now that being said, I also had just purchased my Pickles just last night. During the screenshot, I had a total of 32k SPS staked in my Splinterlands account, which gave me allocation to buy 32 BCXs of this card, as you can see from the screenshot above. Now to buy this card, you will be charged 150 DEC for each BCX and to purchase my whole quota of 32 Cards, I needed to spent total 4800 DEC. so without wasting anytime, I quickly went to purchase them all within a single transaction, which would increase my chance of getting rarer foils like gold foil or black foil cards.

Now, though I have almost no chance of getting a black foil card for my little 32 cards allocation, I was hoping to get at least 1 or 2 Fold foil cards if I get lucky. Both the Alchemy and Midnight potions increase your chances of getting gold foil and black foil cards by a flat 2x. So, in order to increase my chances of getting gold foil cards, without a second thought I used alchemy potions before claiming my cards but didn't bother to buy and use midnight potions on then, simply because the price of midnight potions are expensive and the chance of getting a black foil card even after applying the potion is very low. As you can see from the screenshot above, I have applied all the required 32 alchemy potions when purchasing the cards and then confirmed the transaction to claim my cards.

Now time to reveal the results! Well, I waited 3 days to skip the slow block processing part and yet, I got caught and couldn’t see the claim page. So after waiting for a while, I refreshed the page and went straight to my Item -> cards page to see what I got from the pull. As you can see from the screenshot above, it didn't disappoint me because I got 1 Fold foil Yaba’s Pickle along with 32 regular foils. Though I was crossing my fingers to get 2 Gold Foils, I am happy with the outcome and glad to receive at least 1 piece of Pickle in Gold Foil.

If we look at the current market price of all three different foils of this card, here’s the price list.

• Regular Foil - 0.098$ per BCX (104.88 DEC)

• Gold Foil - 1.69$ per BCX (1,808.65 DEC)

• Black Foil - 290$ for max level (310,359.59 DEC)

As you can clearly see, the price of regular foil Yaba’s pickle is very low at the moment due to the selling pressure. Where we are buying each regular BCX of the Yaba’s Pickle card for 150 DEC, it is selling only for around 105 DEC in the market. But hopefully, the price of Regular foil cards will start to rise once the selling pressure gets reduced a bit. On the other hand, the price for Gold foil cards is rising sharply and went from around 1$ to 1.7$ within an overnight as ai checked. The same can be seen with Black Foil cards, which are max level cards straight out of the box and only 1 black foil card is currently listed in the market.

Now, looking at the card’s stats and abilities, this card only costs 4 mana to be used in battles, so you can easily put this card in your lineup while playing small to medium mana limit matches or the ones including Little Leagues rulesets. This card doesn't have any attack power, but it comes with a high combo of armour and health and acts as a defensive tank card that you can use to protect your front side of the lineup. Though its speed is comparatively slow, it has the Evade ability, which increases your chance of dodging enemy melee and range attacks. It also has 3 other abilities - the Shield ability to receive 50% less damage (rounded up) from all physical attacks and 0 damage from such attacks with 1 power, the slow ability will decrease every enemy monster’s speed by 1 and the Heal ability will restore 1/3 of max health (rounded down) each round if wounded. So overall, I really like this card and no doubt, this card will be a popular choice to be used with monsters with weapon’s training ability to give it the missing attack power. Overall, I think this card is worthy of a place in your collection and can be used alongside your other warriors on the battlefield.
