Hello Splinterlands lovers!

As the Conclave Arcana cards are taking over the battleground, I hope all of you who play this game, especially in Modern format, are focusing both on your card collection and learning new strategies to stay competitive in the game. Though the Pre-Sale has ended on 11th May, the General sale is Live right now where you can buy all the 4 different types of Conclave Arcana booster packs - Standard, Alchemy, Legendary and Starter or if you are looking for particular cards, you can also check the card market for good deals on your required cards. Let's look at the stats of the ongoing general sale right now. Packs are selling continuously at a good speed and right now, there are only 4,274,168 Standard packs, 854,148 Alchemy Packs and 427,484 Legendary packs available for sale, whereas for Starter packs, there are no limits on the total pack count.

Now, as expected, many players are currently building their Conclave Arcana collection by either buying more and more packs from the official shop or buying cards directly, bringing a lot of transactions and boosting the game economy. Like many of you, I have also made a decent purchase in the presale and bought 417 Alchemy booster Packs, which I have already opened and now rent my cards to earn DEC. But most of them are not getting rented and need frequent price changes to stay at the top. Now, before, I used to depend on the splex.gg website for the auto rental service, but they seem to have gone offline for some reason, and right now I am finding it hard to do all the manual work by myself. So, in case you know about any auto rental service that can re-list your cards for rental in the market, please let me know in the comments below.

Now moving on, today I will be showcasing another Conclave Arcana card to you all. In my previous splinterlands post, we talked about the Abyssal Elemental and in today’s episode, let me take out another amazing Conclave Arcana monster, the Boring Hobgoblin. This is one of the 6 Black Foil cards that I received from my Alchemy booster packs and I liked this card since my first glance at it, especially for its sneak and reveal ability. So, if you are interested, let’s take a dive without any further ado.

Boring Hobgoblin

I don't know the reason behind the name - Boring Hobgoblin, because looking at its stats and abilities, I actually found this card pretty attractive. Boring Hobgoblin is a Neutral element card that costs 5 mana to be used in battles. Its attack type is Melee and it is a Common type card that requires a total of 400 BCXs of regular cards and 38 BCXs of gold cards to upgrade this mobster to its max level. This monster belongs to the Goblin bloodline and it possesses defensive stats with good attack power, but the main feature of this card is its sneak ability, along with 2 other abilities. Also, one of these 3 abilities is brand new that got introduced with the Conclave Arcana edition, which I will be discussing later in this post.

Now looking at its stats, the Boring Hobgoblin at max level holds 3 melee attack power at 3 speed with 3 armour and 5 health, along with 3 abilities - Sneak, Reveal and Silence. Now, I personally like to use Sneak and Opportunity monsters in battles, because they clean up backline monsters swiftly while your front monster defends against enemy attacks. Moreover, its high attack power can take out enemy monsters faster, while its large health + armour combo (5 health + 3 armour at max level) can endure multiple attacks easily. Though its speed seems decent (3 at max level) for a 5 mana cost monster, I am sure that its other stats will make up for it. Now, let’s focus on its abilities below.

Reveal - Reveal is one of the newest abilities that got introduced in the game with the launch of Conclave Arcana monsters and this ability is a solid answer to the monsters with the Camouflage ability. Monsters with the Reveal ability will apply Revealed to a Camouflaged enemy monster each round. The Revealed monsters can then be targeted by direct attacks.

This new ability certainly changes the game for Camouflaged monsters, because till mow there were no ways to hit them directly. Unless you finish all the monsters standing before the Camouflaged monsters or damage them indirectly (like with blast damage), there is no direct way to target them. But with the introduction of this new ability, now the scene has changed entirely and these Camouflaged monsters are not safe anymore.

Silence - Silence is one of the oldest abilities in the game and Monsters with the Silence ability will reduce all enemy magic monsters' attack power by 1. So this ability is very useful to counter magic monsters and whenever you predict that the opponent can use multiple magic Monsters against you, you can try using this monster in your lineup.

Sneak - The third and last ability that this monster possesses is Sneak and as I said, this ability is one of my favourites in this game because it always helps me to take down backline monsters easily and demolish the opponent’s attack plan. Monsters with the Sneak ability will target the enemy monster in the last position.

Generally, we use our weak attacking monsters at the last positions, so using monsters with sneak ability will help you take down the opponent’s rear monsters, weakening his attacks, which will buy more time for you to finish his rest monsters. For best performance, try to use at least 2 sneak monsters in your lineup and you can also add opportunity monsters with them for better results.

I hope you enjoyed reading my post about BORING HOBGOBLIN. Please let me know your thoughts about this monster in the comments section below, and I look forward to seeing you all in my next post.

I haven't considered buying this card since its attack only upgrades to 2 at level 9.

Yes you are right, I think respecting its mana cost, this monster is best to use as max level. Thanks for visiting

I think it's useful just because it's part of the neutral cards. I think that if it were of a specific element, I don't know if it would be so worth it considering mana cost, skills and base stats.
