Hello Splinterlands warriors and welcome back to my blog!
The Frontier archons are generally weaker than other sets. However, they are easy to level up owing to their cheap cost. You can get them for free but if you don't have time to play in the Frontier then you can simply buy them at less cost than Conclave Arcana archons. On the other hand, they cost more mana and grant less buffs than other Modern archons. The best benefit that can be derived from them is that they can give you access to higher level units at less cost. In today's post, I'll show how a the Frontier Fire archon led his team to beat a team with Der Gottem Gearnut, one of the beefiest tanks in the game today.

The ruleset removed armor so a viable strategy is to hit hard and fast. Player akosilestr used the Frontier Fire archon Barthalamas who grants his team with additional speed. Then, his units are all hard hitters with at least three damage dealt.
In the tank position was a level four Drybone Megalodon. He deals four melee damage and has four speed. He has a Retaliate ability to counterattack enemy damage dealers.
Another unit from the Frontier. Chaos Furybringer is a decent damage dealer at second position. He deals three melee damage but has only four health.
The legendary Venka the Vile deals four melee damage even at level one. She has the Charge ability enabling her to attack with melee from afar.
Mindless Thrall is a fast magic unit that deals three damage.
Kha'zi Conjurer is a two mana unit with four range attack. However, he has the Incendiary debilitation that hurts himself and adjacent units.
Chaos Battlemage is a legendary reward card from the Rebellion set. She deals three range damage and has the Rebirth ability.
His enemy had a team build I have seen often. He had Avina of the Wolf archon and Der Gottem Gearnut tank. It's a combo used to maximize Gearnut's sustainability in the tank position. Gearnut has a huge healthpool of twenty even at level one. He gained a self heal ability from the archon then he's also supported by another unit with Tank Heal ability. The aim is for Gearnut to hold the line while his team deal damage from behind him. The strategy works but in this case, his supporting damage dealers were weak. In contrast, akosilestr's troops dealt three damage or more. This whittled down Gearnut's health and once he's gone, it was easy to demolish the rest of his team.
