Hello Splinterlands warriors and welcome back to my blog!
The Frontier mode of Splinterlands gives players a lot of benefits. The best that I enjoy from the Frontier was obtaining level four archons at a cheap cost. You can get them for free but if you don't have time to play in the Frontier then you can simply buy them at less cost than Conclave Arcana archons. On the other hand, they cost more mana and grant less buffs than other Modern archons. The best benefit that can be derived from them is that they can give you access to higher level units at less cost. In today's post, I'll show how a Frontier archon with better synergized team can beat even a legendary archon with legendary units in their team.

The battle rulesets included Armored Up and Outsider. Due to the Armored Up ruleset, I chose to use a magic team and expected the opponent to do the same. I chose the Frontier archon Incessant Sage who grants an additional armor. The rest of the team was composed of the following units.
None attack unit Ulundin Overseer took the tank position. Its twelve health and thick armor is ideal for the ruleset. He will gain two magic attack from Shiraza in second position. Shiraza's Weapons Training ability helps none attack unit by giving them the same attack as Shiraza. In third, I had another none attack unit Nimbledook Explorer whose Protect ability adds to my team's armor. She also has Armored Strike ability that grants her melee attack equal to her armor stats. In fourth is strong magic damage dealer Mindless Thrall. In fifth is Caravan Guard whose Triage ability is a key combo with my last unit. My last unit is an Outsider from the Chaos Legion set. Iziar is an ideal unit to use against magic teams owing to her Void and Taunt abilities. Pairing her with Caravan Guard means that she gets healed, increasing her survivability.
The enemy had powerful legendary archon, Lorkus who buffs magic and melee attacks. He also had legendary cards Mantaroth and Caladium on his team. Looking at the enemy lineup, it's clear that they pack more fire power than mine. However, my team had the better defense owing to their thick armor, Taunt ability and healing. This allowed my team to do damage although less than the enemy's but they receive less damage too due to their excellent defense and healing. In the end, my team led by a cheaper Frontier archon won against a more expensive legendary team due to better synergy.
