Unlocked Gold III in Modern Mode
Hello, Splinterlands warriors, and welcome back to my blog!
Early in the new season, I managed to unlock the Gold III League in Modern. Moving up to a higher league means I can look forward to better SPS rewards from my victories. I also received advancement chests as a reward, which included cards and other items. For me, one of the most enjoyable parts of playing Splinterlands is the sense of progression. Winning battles, climbing the leagues and seeing what rewards I can earn along the way.
Advancement Reward Chests
I got three common cards, merits and energy. Oshannus and Thornmaw Berserker are now close to level five while Cullborn Revenant will need more cards.
Featured Battle
The battle features two magic Water teams. The one with the better synergy will have the advantage and win the battle. Let's go over my team.
I had Abyssal Elemental as my tank. It has Resurgence ability that allows it to resurrect with full health after getting defeated. It's like getting an extra card in my team.
Next is Wailworn Specter who is is crucial to my combo. I teamed her up with Arcane Skinwalker and Mindless Thrall. Wailworn Specter has the Bloodline Tribute ability. This means that when se gets defeated the other two cards will get additional stats. This is a huge power up. Wailworn Specter will surely be targeted first because the ruleset included Equal Opportunity and she has the least health among my units.
The other combo in my team are Torrent Sniper and Shock Trooper. Shock Trooper has Electrified debilitation that reduces his team's health by one per round. On the other hand, Torrent Sniper has Painforge. This means he trades his health stat for power each round.
The enemy almost had the same team but he had a null attack unit in the tank position. He also did not have my three man combo I mentioned above. The enemy did have a level three epic Tenrai. It's an expensive card but it doesn't have other cards to synergize with the same way my team was built.
In round two we both have the same number of units but mine has higher power due to the synergies created between my cards.
The battle was won in round three.
