Hello Splinterlands warriors and welcome back to my blog!

Early in the new season, I just unlocked Gold III League in Modern. Going to a higher league, I expect my SPS rewards earned per win to increase. I was also rewarded with advancement chests that contained cards, among others. Advancing in leagues as you win more battles is part of the fun I find in playing Splinterlands.

Advancement Reward Chests

The best card I received was three copies of rare card Gravebrand Warlock. He deals a high magic damage of three and is one of my most used cards in the Death splinter.

There are also some common cards, scrolls, merits and potions.

Featured Battle

The featured battle has my Exemplar in it. He is a zero mana, elf of the Earth splinter.

He has no attack but has a support and debuff abilities. He has Strengthen that increase the team's health and Weaken that decrease the enemy's health. I paired him with Shiraza to give him two magic attacks. I like the way I built him with reasonable cost. My only complaint is that he does not receive any Bloodline Dominion ability from the archon even though he's an elf.

The rest of my team were composed of Quilliun Legionary in tank position. He is a range tank that has counters against melee and magic attacks. In second position was Grove Doomblade, an elf with five melee damage. She also has Sneak and Stun abilities as well as Execute coming from the archon. In third position was Ashveil Tactician, an elf that has no attack but gets two magic damage because of Shiraza's Weapons Training. She has the Inspire ability to increase the team's melee attack. In fourth and fifth were Shiraza and my Exemplar respectively. Finally, I had Silverleaf Mage who deals three range damage and is the Taunt unit of the team. She draws enemy attacks away from my tank and other cards.

The enemy had a decent line up but my team was able to pull through the win.
