Hello Splinterlands warriors and welcome back to my blog!

I just unlocked Gold I in the Modern League. With the move to a higher league, I expect my SPS rewards per win to increase as well. I also received advancement chests containing various rewards, including cards. For me, progressing through the leagues as I win more battles is one of the things that makes playing Splinterlands so enjoyable.

Advancement Reward Chests

The draw was a bit disappointing. Only three cards and all were common. I got a lot of merits, some scrolls and a potion. Overall, they're not as great as my previous advancement chests.

I got to upgrade one card though.

Magmaforged levels up to four and gained one speed stats. I use this card to combo with Grove Doomblade. Its Pinpoint ability helps Grove Doomblade not miss which sometimes happens because of her lack of speed.

Featured Battle

The battle had Wands Out ruleset which only allows magic units. I used the Earth splinter with Anchor Hex Adept in the tank position. Its Void Armor ability will help reduce damage in the early rounds. I had one elf in the team, Frontier card Sorrow Harvester who deals two magic damage and decrease the enemy's health with her Weaken ability. I have a couple of three mana cards with Strengthen ability that increased the team's health stats by two. Lastly, I had Mad Kaboomist who deals two magic damage.

The enemy also chose the elf archon and his units were all elves. This means that all units have the Execute ability granted by the archon's bloodline dominion ability. He has a strong tank, Thanalorian Scion who has ten armor and has the Void Armor ability. He also has two units with Weaken ability that countered the Strengthen buffs my team received. If there is any advantage my team had was the higher level archons and units. I also had more units than the enemy and thus was able to whittle down his tank's armor and health. Once that was done, then the rest of the battle went easy.
