Hello Splinterlands warriors and welcome back to my blog!

I just unlocked Gold I in the Modern League. Moving up to a higher league means I can expect better SPS rewards per win, which is another nice incentive to keep pushing forward. I also received advancement chests containing various rewards, including cards. For me, the feeling of progressing through the leagues as I win more battles is one of the things that makes playing Splinterlands so enjoyable.

Advancement Reward Chests

I got four cards including one rare. There were also merits and energy that I can use to keep on grinding. Also, I got to upgrade one card.

Oshannus Unmade gets levelled up to five. He gained an ability to counter flying units. For sure it will be useful in Earthquake rulesets when I get the chance to put him in battle.

Featured Battle

The battle is a high mana one which means I can put my best units without worrying about mana limitations. I chose the Dragon and Fire combo for my splinter and the archon was Kavor Skarn. In the tank position was Doomshield Warden. I debated whether to put another melee tank in second position but decided to put in Night Reaper instead. It's a good secondary tank with high magic damage, has flying ability and has excellent defense and speed. Then, third and fourth positions were my sneak attacker combo of Grove Doomblade and Chuma Marandu. Both deal high melee damage and will harass the enemy's back line. In fifth is Ballista Deadshot who deals a huge five magic damage. Lastly, I had Syrenth who has Taunt ability but also deal four range damage.

The enemy used a Frontier archon that grants armor to units. He also had a couple of strong Arena Vanguards in his team. Other damage dealers were a couple of magic units. Lastly, he had Pixie Knife Hurler in the sixth position. The enemy had good synergy and was first to dispose of my Taunt unit while my two tanks was able to eliminate the enemy tank themselves. Afterwhich my two sneak attackers also worked on the enemy's back line. My team outdamaged the enemy and soon won the battle.
