Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome back to my blog!
Execute is an offensive ability that allows a unit that has the ability to make an additional attack against the same target if that target is left with two or fewer health after a successful attack. This means that the unit can attack twice in that round if the condition is met. This ability has snatched victory from the jaws of defeat in several of my battles where that crucial second attack defeats an enemy unit.

Here's how Execute works. My unit, for example, the Thanalorian Blade attacks an enemy and reduced its health to two or less. She will then perform another attack against the same target thus "executing" it. The Thanalorian Blade is especially powerful because she combines Execute with the Opportunity ability. She hunts low health enemy units that gives her more chances to trigger the Execute ability.
The Execute ability is a great counter to units with low health and thick armor like the Thanalorian Scion. My units with Execute ability will attack her twice each round thus reducing her armor and eventually defeat her.

In this battle, I had my regular team that I often used in battles. The Earth archon Kaylia Silverleaf led my team. She grants the Execute ability to all elves. I had the Quilliun Legionary at tank position. He has defense for melee and magic attacks with his Thorns and Void abilities while dealing two range damage of his own. My next four units were all elves thus getting the Execute ability from the archon.
My opponent had an all maxed out team. Every single unit and archon is at its full level thus having all their stats and abilities at maximum levels. The enemy team had good synergy too with a defensive tank that has self healing and Armored Strike ability. In second position he had a unit with dual attack. In third he has Bren Palesworn, another dual attack unit. In fifth was Karst Harpy who gave me the most trouble since her evasion is high inspite of the Reverse Speed ruleset. She made my units miss a lot of their attacks. Lastly, he had a ranged unit that dealt three damage and has the Strengthen ability. He had a lot of advantages. The only advantage I had in this battle was that my archon had an ability to debuff magic attacks and granted a Bloodline ability. The enemy archon had no abilities.
The battle was tough as the enemy units were stronger in terms of stats and had more abilities than my units. The advantage I had was that four of my units can trigger Execute and attack twice in a round and did so many times in this battle.

The crucial moment came when my Blackmoor Wild Elf eliminated the enemy's Karst Harpy who dodged a lot of physical attacks but cannot evade magic. His last unit, Gobson Sniper, was range so it was unable to attack from the front line. If it can then it would have defeated my unit that only had one health left.
