It's Worth Getting the "Exclusive Cards" from the Splinterlands Exclusive Store – Review of "VETHOS SPINECLAW" [EN-ES]

I’ve been wanting to talk about the exclusive cards in the game for a while now. They can be extremely useful and powerful, but there’s always one question that every player asks themselves: Is it worth buying them? And the answer depends solely on what you want to do. For example, if you want to speculate on the market, it can work, however, this is a process that takes time to play out, since cards will continue to be printed until they disappear from the exclusive store—which financially dilutes their value. Of course, there’s a limit to everything, and the team is well aware of this. Therefore, since these cards are part of a special edition like the “Promo,” they should be scarce, but I don’t have the exact information right now.
But what I was getting at is that, as long as the card is being sold in the exclusive store for VOUCHERS, the selling price on the “Open Market” will always be lower than the cost; in fact, this is evident—for example, one of them, called Vethos Spineclaw, costs 100 VOUCHERS. At the current price as of this writing, the VOUCHER is trading on Hive Engine at $0.02365, which comes to about $2.365, but if we go directly to the market, each BCX is priced at $1.238. Therefore, arbitrage is clearly not feasible at this time; however, it can be profitable on the battlefield, although it depends on what we actually do, because there are many alternatives—and that’s what I want to share today.

What are some ways to make the most of Exclusive cards?
There are several options we can use to get the most out of purchasing an exclusive card in the store; however, not everyone is aware of all these options, even though they’re all publicly available and veteran players know about them, New players, however, may not be aware of everything you can do with a card, since these are essentially the cornerstone of the game’s entire gameplay and economy. Therefore, owning cards doesn’t just mean having a card you can use to play—they have multiple uses and, of course, an intrinsic value that depends on their rarity, print run, and usefulness on the battlefield.
Now that we've clarified that, what are these alternatives? - Alternatives for making the most of it
Appreciation Potential: Although what I mentioned about “Arbitrage” isn’t favorable right now—since these cards are still being sold in the “Exclusive Store”—the reality is that, even with all that, the supply remains finite. That means the impression isn’t as high as it would be if you were pulling them from a pack, on top of that, it’s also available for a limited time, so this is the easiest way for a card to gain value and make this initial purchase at the store worthwhile.
Synergy with New Sets and Archons: Another way to get the most out of it is undoubtedly the synergy it can create with sets from the Modern format and even those from Wild, as well as some powerful Archons that help boost the cards’ power. however, to make the most of it, you should focus on the two most recent sets, “Arcane Conclave” and “Escalation,” to get the most out of your “Rodentian” bloodline. Not to mention that one of its abilities can easily boost its demand.
Using Them in “Conflicts”: Conflicts are events where we can obtain extremely rare and powerful cards—all of them legendary—but to access them, we need cards or booster packs from specific editions and formats, in this case the “Modern Format.” Therefore, the “Exclusive” cards from the store work perfectly for earning points and ultimately trying to obtain these cards. Of course, to take full advantage of conflicts, we need a good number of cards and booster packs, but these can work perfectly well and be part of that group.
Analysis of the VETHOS SPINECLAW
In this post, I won't analyze this card in such detail, because I think it would require an entire post dedicated to it, but what I can do is take a cursory look at it—examining stats and abilities to gauge how useful this card might be on the battlefield. Ultimately, that’s what matters because, as I said, it could be a medium- to long-term investment, with the hope that the market will recognize its true value once it’s no longer available in the game’s exclusive store and copies can only be obtained on the open market.
So, what does this card have to offer?
VETHOS SPINECLAW
First, I'll go over his stats, which are pretty good, and then we'll look at his abilities—which ultimately determine how the card is used—with the goal of figuring out his playstyle. So let's get started:
>* Statistics: A card's statistics are largely what determine its playability—I'd say about 50%, for example, this card has a mana cost of 9, 5 Melee Attack, 4 Shield, 9 Health, and 5 Speed. So, we can clearly say it’s an extremely fast physical attacker that can destroy tanks and any type of defense with just a couple of attacks—it’s a top-tier offensive weapon, so its purpose is to deal as much damage as possible.

>* Abilities: This is where we find the rest of the card’s gameplay—the other 50%. For example, one of the most powerful new abilities is “Apex Strike,” which focuses solely on attacking the opponent’s most powerful units in terms of attack power. On the other hand, another ability it has is “Bloodline Pact,” which allows allied units that share the same bloodline as VETHOS to gain +1 attack power point every time they defeat an enemy; however, if one of them is defeated, they receive +1 true damage point, however, if VETHOS is defeated, the units sharing his bloodline take -2 damage points and, obviously, lose the power they gained. But it’s not all about offense, as he also possesses the “Deflect” ability, which reduces damage from reflective damage abilities—such as “Thorns,” “Magic Reflect,” “Corrosive Ward,” “Return Fire,” and “Blast”—to 0.
Final Thoughts
While we can profit from it financially in various ways, the truth is that, for example, this card called “VETHOS SPINECLAW” has enormous potential to exceed its current price on the open market, since its utility is quite specific, but it’s a unit that deals quite good and powerful damage—so it’s not a card to be taken lightly. We need to defend ourselves well, but that’s a topic for another post and strategy—nevertheless, it’s a great card.

Hace tiempo que quiero hablar de las cartas exclusivas en el juego, las cuales pueden ser extremadamente útiles y fuertes, pero, siempre surge una pregunta que todo jugador se hace siempre ¿Vale la pena comprarlas? Y la respuesta depende única y exclusivamente de lo que se quiera hacer, por ejemplo, si lo que quieres es especular en el mercado, si puede funcionar, sin embargo, este es un proceso que tarda en manifestarse, ya que, hasta que no desaparezca de la tienda exclusiva, no se dejaran de imprimir cartas, lo que financieramente diluye su valor, por supuesto, para todo hay un límite y esto el equipo lo tiene claro, por lo que, estas cartas al ser de una edición especial como la “Promo”, debe ser escaso, pero no tengo la información exacta ahora mismo.

Existen varias alternativas que podemos emplear para poder sacarle provecho a la adquisición o compra de una carta exclusiva en la tienda, sin embargo, no todos conocen todas estas alternativas aunque realmente todas son públicas y los jugadores más veteranos las conocen, pero, los nuevos jugadores quizás no estén al tanto de todo lo que puedes hacer con una carta, ya que prácticamente estas son el pilar de toda la jugabilidad y economía en el juego, por lo que, tener cartas no solo significa tener una carta que solo puedes usar para jugar, sino que tienen múltiples usos y que por supuesto tiene un valor intrínseco que depende de su rareza, impresiones y utilidad en el campo de batalla.
Con esto claro ¿Cuáles son estas alternativas? - Alternativas para sacarle provecho
Potencial de Revalorización: Si bien lo que comente del “Arbitraje” justo ahora no está favorable, debido a que todavía se venden en la “Tienda Exclusiva”, la realidad es que aun con todo esto, el suministro sigue siendo finito, eso quiere decir que, la impresión no es tanta como si se estuviera sacando de un pack, ademas de eso, también tiene un periodo de tiempo limitado, por lo que, esta es la forma más fácil de que una carta gane valor y valga la pena esta primera compra en la tienda.
Sinergia con Nuevos Sets y Arcontes: Otra alternativa para sacarle provecho sin duda es la sinergia que puede hacer con los SETS del formato Moderno y hasta con los de Salvaje, ademas de algunos buenos Arcontes que ayudan a que el poder de las cartas vea un incremento, sin embargo, para aprovecharlo al máximo deben enfocarse en los 2 SETS más recientes que son “Conclave Arcana y Escalation”, esto para sacar los máximo de su linaje de sangre llamado “Rodentian”. Esto sin mencionar que una de sus habilidades fácilmente puede disparar su demanda.
Usarlas en los “Conflictos”: Los conflictos son eventos en donde podemos obtener cartas extremadamente raras y poderosas, todas legendarias pero que, para poder acceder a ellas necesitamos cartas o packs de ediciones y formatos específicos, en este caso del “Formato Moderno”, por lo que, la cartas Exclusivas” de la tienda funcionan perfectamente para ganar puntos y al final tratar de obtener de estas cartas, por supuesto, para sacarle provecho a los conflictos necesitamos un buen numero de cartas y packs, pero, estas pueden funcionar perfectamente y ser parte de dicho grupo.
Analisis de VETHOS SPINECLAW
En este post no analizare de forma tan detallada esta carta, porque creo que necesitaría una publicación completa dedica a ello, pero, lo que si puedo hacer es analizarla de forma superficial, estadísticas, habilidades para medir que tanta utilidad podría tener esta carta en el campo de batalla, al final esto es lo que importa porque como dije, puede ser una inversión para mediano y largo plazo para esperar que el mercado le de su valor real una vez salgan de la tienda exclusiva del juego y no se puedan obtener mas copias de ellas sino en el mercado.
Así que ¿Qué es lo que nos trae esta carta?
VETHOS SPINECLAW
Primero mencionare sus estadísticas, las cuales son bastante buenas y posterior a esto veremos sus habilidades que al final es lo que determina el resto del uso de la carta con la intención de desentrañar lo que es su estilo de juego, así que comencemos de una vez:
Estadísticas: Sus estadísticas son en gran parte lo que le brinda la jugabilidad a una carta, diría que el 50% , por ejemplo, esta carta tiene 9 puntos de costo de mana, 5 de ataque “Cuerpo a Cuerpo, 4 de escudo, 9 de vida y 5 de velocidad, por lo que, claramente podemos decir que es una atacante físico sumamente rápido que puedo destruir tanques y cualquier tipo de defensas con solo un par de ataques, es un arma ofensiva de primera, por lo que, su función es hacer el mayor daño posible.
Habilidades: Aquí es donde tenemos el resto del estilo de juego de las cartas, el otro 50%, por ejemplo, una de las habilidades mas poderosas de las nuevas es “Apex Strike” la cual solo se enfoca en atacar a las unidades más poderosas en términos de ataque del oponente. Por otro lado, otras de las habilidades que tiene es “Bloodline Pact” permitiendo que las unidades aliadas que comparten en el mismo linaje que VETHOS obtengan +1 punto de poder de ataque cada vez que derroten a un enemigo, pero en cambio si una de ellas es derrotada reciben +1 punto de daño real, pero en cambio si VETHOS es derrotado las unidades que comparten su linaje reciben -2 puntos de daño y es obvio que pierden el poder ganado, pero, tampoco es que todo es ofensiva ya que posee la habilidad de “Deflect”, la cual reduce a 0 el daño ocasionado por habilidades de daño reflectivas como “Thorns, Magic Reflect, Corrosive Ward, Return Fire y Blast.
Consideraciones Finales
Si bien podemos sacarle provecho financieramente hablando de varias maneras, lo cierto es que por ejemplo, esta carta llamada “VETHOS SPINECLAW” tiene un potencial enorme para sobrepasar el precio actual que tiene en el mercado abierto, ya que su utilidad es bastante específica, pero es una unidad que tiene un daño bastante bueno y poderoso, por lo que, no es una carta que se tome a la ligera. Debemos defendernos bien, pero, esto es otro post y estrategia, sin embargo, es una gran carta.
