Lava Spider

First, some info on Lava Spider:

Few explorers dare to go deep within the volcanoes of the world. Tales are told of great spiders that weave threads of fire and trap their enemies in webs of flame. An inescapable and painful death.

When the Chaos Legion entered the Splinterlands through the great volcano in the center of Praetoria, they saw the lava spiders and used them to their advantage. Transporting these spiders into areas that need defense is a win-win for both groups. For the Chaos Legion, it is an easy barrier to ward off unwanted visitors. And for the lava spiders, they get free meals from the curious, the foolish, and the unwary adventurers that seek to strike at the Chaos Legion.

A 3 Mana Sniper, Lava Spider takes over in Fire Beetle's steed, with 1 Ranged, 2 Speed and 4 Health for 3 Mana, with the ability Snipe, making him pretty much equivalent to Fire Beetle, but lacking some Health and Ranged at Level 3.

At Level 4, he gains +1 Ranged and this is the first power spike for Lava Spider, becoming a powerful choice for Yodin as a 2 Ranged Low Mana Sniper.

At Level 6, Lava Spider can knock off Flying from targets, making him more useful in Earthquake Rounds.

His final stats at Level 10 are 2 Ranged, 4 Speed, 6 Health, and Snipe, Snare, and Poison

He costs about $0.07 per BCX

**LEVEL COSTS**
Level 4 costs about $2.10, this is where he gains **+1 Range**
Level 6 costs $7, this is where he gains **Snare**
Max Level costs $28 (based on 1 BCX prices) He gains **Poison** at this level.

*Keep in mind that higher BCX Cards come with discounts, this is the math for purchasing 1 BCX Cards, which you should NOT do if you're planning to level.*

ℙ𝕣𝕖𝕗𝕖𝕣𝕣𝕖𝕕 𝕊𝕦𝕞𝕞𝕠𝕟𝕖𝕣

Lava Spider kind of only synergizes with a few summoners, but here are my favorites:

Yodin is a very potent combination for Lava Spider: +1 Range and Blast means that Lava Spider is very likely hitting targets for 2 Damage, +1 and +1 for adjacent enemies, for 4 Damage a round, that's a lot of damage. A LOT of damage for 3 Mana at Level 1.

Tarsa is just an alright option, offering +1 Health and +1 Melee, it helps your frontline stay alive longer, which lets Lava Spider do its job... That's about it for Tarsa though.

Dragons have some other, versatile options:

Selenia Sky is a budget option, in the sense of mana, for Lava Spider: Increasing its ranged damage and making it a very potent ranged attacker for 3 mana.

Drake of Arnak is also a surprisingly solid card with him: +1 Armor makes Lava Spider a lot more tanky, surviving an unfortunate sneak attack from Sand Worm for example.

ℙ𝕣𝕖𝕗𝕖𝕣𝕣𝕖𝕕 ℙ𝕠𝕤𝕚𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟

Position 3-5
As a ranged Sniper, you want him in the back of your lineups, sniping your opponent's squishy ranged attackers. He has an added benefit of having a decent amount of health for his mana, so he doesn't need to be protected much, especially with summoners who grant him +1 Health.

ℙ𝕣𝕖𝕗𝕖𝕣𝕣𝕖𝕕 𝕄𝕠𝕕𝕚𝕗𝕚𝕖𝕣𝕤

1. Armored Up is sort of a double edged sword, you gain more defense, but it also prevents you from hitting the soft squishies in the backline as a ranged sniper.
2. Odds is where Lava Spider is a go-to choice, for Ranged or otherwise, especially since Scavo Firebolt is an even Ranged Attacker.
3. Little League is perfect for a 3 Mana monster like Lava Spider, and he pairs great with Spirit Hoarder, who will heal him in the backline.
4. Poison is actually a solid ruleset for this card: At 12-15 Mana, this card gives you a LOT of health for its mana cost, and you could run something like Tarsa (4), Lava Spider (3), Scavo Chemist (2) Spirit Hoarder (3) at 12 mana and possibly survive your opponent through just outhealing/surviving. Add a lv. 2 Xenith Monk or lv. 1 Cerberus in the front if you have 16 mana.

ℕ𝕠𝕥 ℝ𝕖𝕔𝕠𝕞𝕞𝕖𝕟𝕕𝕖𝕕 𝕄𝕠𝕕𝕚𝕗𝕚𝕖𝕣𝕤

1. Evens means that poor Lava Spider doesn't get to play.
2. No Abilities basically makes Lava Spider a sort of tanky ranged attacker: He's still alright, but he's not as powerful anymore.
3. Reverse Speed is not ideal for Lava Spider, as he quickly builds speed while leveling, but he is still able to be used at level 1 in Reverse Speed.

Stampede, Melee Attacks from Anywhere, 24 Mana, Fire, Earth, Death, and Dragon Splinters

My first Fire Battle of the day to try to get this mission done, and boy does this one really show Lava Spider putting in the work: Between Tenyii and Lava Spider, the opposing team didn't have a chance.

I will admit, this was not the team I was planning to counter, as I was expecting a Death Windeku comp, and was planning to use Spirit Hoarder and Lava Spider to hold the back line as a 3 mana ranged tank: Instead, Lava Spider decided he was a hyper accurate laser point sniper and shot down that 5 Speed Flying Peryton like it was nothing: Next.

This was about the worst matchup for Lava Spider, with a very fast, dodgy snipe position attacker, it could have easily gone south with a few misses, but Lava Spider proved me wrong here and earned its slot in my "Okay he's pretty good pile"

Meanwhile, Tenyii, being Tenyii, was like, team? I don't need a team: Bye Chicken, Scorch Fiend and Molten Ogre, yall did basically nothing, let me handle everything. You know, as Tenyii should.
