Weekly HSBI Giveaway for the Splinterlands Community #23

HSBI Titelbild.png

Happy Monday everyone and welcome to the my weekly HSBI giveaway for the Splinterlands community!

Actually, last week was rather quiet and there was little Splinterlands news. However, a team member's Discord account was hacked and some nasty links were posted on the Discord server. I hope no one fell for it. Always be careful which links you click on and take a close look at them, because unfortunately you never know these days. In the meantime, all links have been removed and the situation is back under control. There was one piece of relevant news, however: the start of Phase 2 of Frontier Mode, in other words the Weekly Fortune Draw, was announced for this week. However, no concrete information has been provided yet. What is known is that by playing Frontier mode, you can earn tickets that allow you to participate in the raffle for Black and Arcane Foil Foundation cards.

Your Answers to the last Question:

Last week's question was "What do you think of the new Frontier game mode?". This time 11 people took part and answered the question. Let's have a look at some of your answers.

@doombot75:

Really enjoying it, gives me an option to discuss with some web2 gamers and get them to take a look which has been difficult in the past, hoping that the campaign gets expanded soon to explain cars upgrading and the transition to web3 if people want to

Yes, I remember when I tried to convince a friend to join Splinterlands. Unfortunately, he gave up pretty quickly because he doesn't have much to do with Web3. Maybe I'll try again with Frontier Mode. Campaigns to explain card upgrades, among other things, would be really good.

@h4rr1s:

I really like the concept and I think it's a great addition to the game. Unfortunately I wasn't able to play it a lot so far, so I'm still sitting in bronze and the battles start to become kind of boring. With only a small amount of cards and abilities playable, it feels like the same teams are played over and over and I'm getting quite a few draws. I kind of expect that to get better with people growing their collections, though.

Yes, that's one of my criticisms too. Because there are so few cards, the battles and strategies often look the same. However, that might not be a bad thing, as the mode is intended more for beginners, who might be overwhelmed by a large number of cards.

@cherokee4life:

I have been waiting for a true Free2Play method for Splinterlands. I think this is 5 years overdue honestly. I love it though and am all for it! Now that the game has the ability for someone with no crypto wallets or funds, can start to play the "full" game and earn their way up is a game changer. I am really excited to see what the prices of the Foundation cards are going to be in a years time.

It's really overdue. When you think about it, five years... In the crypto world, that's an eternity! But yes, the mode is pretty good now, I agree. I'm also curious to see how the price of Foundation cards will develop. I'm not sure whether to sell or keep my current Foundation cards, as the price of new cards often drops at the beginning.

@snowboarderpete:

Love the new mode. I think it's nice and simple for new players. Not keen on the name but nevermind, that's already been covered enough. I am finding it very hard, I'm not used to so few abilities or maybe I'm just not very good. I think a lot of the top players are hammering it at the moment which makes it harder. Hopefully it won't be too challenging for new players

The developers could have easily avoided the name issue by deciding on one from the start. I mean, who cares about the name as long as the product is good? I also hope that the good players don't make it too difficult for beginners; that wasn't Frontier's goal.

My Answer to the last Question:

First of all, I would like to say that I think Frontier mode is very well done overall. It's what we've been asking for for many years: an environment for new players who want to get involved in Splinterlands. Hopefully, this will have the desired effect in the future and the number of players will grow. We would all benefit from that. Nevertheless, I do have a few minor concerns, such as the small number of cards and the fact that battles can quickly become boring as a result. Another point of criticism is Phase 2, which is set to begin this week. Here, Black Foils and Arcane Foils from the Foundation set will be raffled off by playing the mode. What if only the “old” players receive the cards, and what happens when all the cards are used up? If you want to read more about this, you can do so in my blog, which I wrote.

And the Winner is...

It's time to draw the winner of the last giveaway.

This week's question is...

Are you in a Splinterlands guild? If yes which is it, if not why?

Every splinterlands player should be in a guild, in fact I'm in two with different accounts, I'm leading both with the help of @estebam and @cherokee4life

Our guild is NFG-Club, Legions 1 and 2.

wow.. putting Legion 1 before Legion 2 huh? I see where your.. a-legion-ce lies!

You like that? allegiance... A-Legion-ce... clever huh? I know 😁

Hahaha clever! 👌😂
Nah man, lately legion 2 is more alive than 1 to be honest 🙄
Didn't see that happening a year ago!

I'm just a tiny tad autistic so I'll start with 1 and then 2 😉

One day there will be a guild overhaul and maybe the two gangs can help each other or something

GOAT Monsters, it's a nice little guild with a very active co-leader - but unfortunately the founder is MIA. It really sucks that it's impossible to remove them, even though they haven't been active nor logged in for years. The guild is no world class, but we have a few good players and generally make first or second place in the brawls, giving us some good earnings from that. Always looking for active members, too. Just saying... :-D

YES, the best guild there is in Splinterlands!

NFG Club - Legion II

And we have some open spots if anyone wants to join ;) Guilds are a vital part of the entire game. If you are not in one you are missing out. Brawls are key, they are semi passive way to earn a good chunk of SPS and also Merits=GladiatorCards. So why not?

Yes, I’m in the Apocalypse Artisans, the first guild I joined and was made welcome by the guild and never left, we keep pushing and trying to slowly grow the guild buildings

i'm in the nfg club legion 2 with a bunch of other cool kids. We do pretty good in brawls when everyone shows up and folks are super generous with delegating cards to new accounts to help em out. We also share battles sometimes when someone has a particularly epic win or lose. Or when they beat Quora which is epic.
