Happy Monday everyone and welcome to the my weekly HSBI giveaway for the Splinterlands community!
Last week, a Splinterlands card was adjusted, which doesn't happen often. This is the current promo card Tasoshi Drakamoto. It was made slightly cheaper to play and given the Painforge ability. There were also few minor updates, such as improvements to the battle history and the introduction of some other quality of life features. Then the name of the new game mode, which is set to be released this month, was announced. It will be called โFrontierโ. And finally, I would like to mention that a Town Hall Influencer Edition took place over the weekend. However, I haven't had time to check it out yet or found a good summary of it.
Last week's question was "What do you think about the first Conflict card Zyrx the Emberglace?". This time 9 people took part and answered the question. Let's have a look at some of your answers.
The card is an absolute beast. I need to get it maxed but only guaranteed 9 copies so may have to buy a couple. Burning has it's uses but generally i don't like using it. The burning is however offset with bloodlust.
Nine guaranteed copies is a good start, only two more to go to reach the maximum level. You're right, you have to be very careful with the Incendiary ability, I'm not a huge fan of it either. But if, as in this case, you get a good balance of stats and abilities in return, it can definitely be worth it.
It's an incredibly strong card. Dual attack in and of itself is strong, but with Charge, execute and Bloodlust? Imagine combining it with Akane in a 15 Mana match. Or with Nidhoggr and explosions. If it wasn't for the Burn, this card would be incredibly overpowered - though the bloodlust does reduce that a cost. It's not a complete meta-dominating card like Tofu, but I'm quite sure that it will be played a lot, especially in combination with Painforge-cards, No-Armor Ruleset, and of course no-ability-rulesets.
In total, a nicely balanced card with enough power to be worthy of the conflicts.
Yes, I also think the combination of abilities is very strong. I imagine the abilities Execute and Bloodlust with the Dual Attack in one card to be incredibly powerful. But the card is quite expensive to play and has the Incendiary ability. Nevertheless, I think that at maximum level, the card can decide one or two battles. I definitely agree with you that the card is very good as a first AirDrop card, but it probably won't completely dominate the meta.
Seems like a quite strong card in itself with huge potential in certain cases (like Back to Basics ruleset for example).
Especially at max level, the combination of Execute, Bloodlust and Dual attack will probably dominate a lot of battles.
Fingers crossed that I can get a copy with my few chances in the current conflict.
These negative abilities, such as Incendiary, actually perform really well in the Back to Basics ruleset. It will be similar with Zyrx. When Melee Mayhem is also active, the card can be really powerful and tear through the opponent's lineup.
Loving the first airdrop card, even at Silver itโs going to have a lot of impact with the duel attack and charge allowing you to sit it off the first position, execute and bloodlust at the higher levels make it even better and compensate for the burning.
Hoping I get lucky and get a couple extra!
I agree with you. The ability Charge, which is added at the second level, is essential for the card, and from then on I consider it playable. Without this ability, Zyrx actually has to be played in the first position in order to use the melee attack, and then you simply lose flexibility. The abilities that are added later make the card a bit stronger, but you can also get by without them if you have to.
Overall, I think Zyrx the Emberglace is a pretty good card. Sure, the Incendiary ability is a big minus, but the other abilities and stats make up for it, at least at maximum level. I'm really excited to see the combination of the Execute and Bloodlust abilities in action in a battle. For me, however, the card is probably not very interesting. I could play it at level two at most. It's not bad there, but it's not super special either. And since I assume the card will be quite expensive, it's probably not worth it to me. There are more important cards available for a cheaper price.

Which is your favorite legendary card?
That's a hard one to answer as i don't own that many. However, of the ones I own and am thus familiar with I gotta say Cryptic. The effects he can give, plus minus one speed to enemey and blind. Like damn man. Plus dual splinter. AND lookit at that mad facail expression.
I also love that his background is essentially "I wanted to do crazy magic and joined whomever let me do the most."
I use him a lot.

I found this post from #cryptocompany
My favourite legendary is Elias Max Pruitt - playing him in a number of rulesets, even effective in ranged only when giving armoured strike to someone like Commander Goff.
