Wild pass buying to start gameplay

The season is ongoing, and as I'm drafting this blog, it is going to end in 6 days. However, I have been trying my best to play as many battles as I can, and as a result, I am playing in the Diamond League. My performance was not great in the last season, and there is a reason behind that: I was not able to start at the beginning because I had a different strategy.
The strategy I had last season was that I wanted to renew the cards at a time when I don't need to renew for another season. That only happens when the season is less than halfway, if I'm correct. At that time, the window for renewal goes to 22 or 23 days, which means that whoever does the card renewal gets the window for the current season as well as the next season.
Before the last season, it went well, but it looks like in the last season it was not good because I was not able to unlock the higher league. I can understand this because I started the game when half of the season was already gone. Within the limited time, my rewards were also not good since I was not able to unlock the highest league possible based on my card collection and the level of card I used to play.
But it's fine, and in the current season, I am trying to give my best shot. I am in the Diamond League, but I'm trying to make it even higher and will see if I can make it to Diamond One League within this season, because that is what I'm eyeing. I hope that will happen if things go well.
Generally, I try to follow a different strategy in some seasons, and sometimes I also stick to that because I think it's a game where having a different strategy after a certain period of time helps. That's why I try that way.
You know what? It's a game, so no matter what I plan, it doesn't mean it is going to happen the same. Anyway, I am trying to unlock the highest league in the current season. I hope this will happen. Like I already said, it is completely dependent upon how things perform in the season for me, since I will be competing with many other players as well.

That trick of timing the renewal so it covers two seasons is clever, though starting halfway through last season and missing the higher league sounds like it stung a bit.
