Diving into the Wild: My Splinterlands Experiment

In my last post I discussed that I was not available for about three weeks and now I'm back so going through the changes and updates in the game. Many changes are done and it took time for me to get familiar with those changes. One of the biggest change that has happened and it has also affected my gameplay is that the Chaos Legion is out of the modern format. This is the addition of card that I have been using since the beginning and I was familiar with those cards. I used to take those cards on the rent and play in modern format which was fun but not anymore.

I have gone through other editions also which includes rift watchers and rebellion. The problem is that in rental market the supply is very low or I can say limited and that is why I could not find it useful to go ahead with the modern. The latest edition is too new for me and I need some time more to understand it however the previous two additions are good enough which I tried to explore more. Unfortunately because of the less supply in the rental market for these addition cards it is not feasible for me to continue with for modern format for now.

Trying Wild format

After going through all the aspects and cards availability in the rental market I have decided that for now I will try wild format this season. The season will be ending in nine days so obviously I can take all those cards on the rent for nine days only which I. I have taken a good number of cards from the older editions that are playable in the wild format. I know that automated players are allowed in the wild format and that is why the rewards are less which is OK because I have never played this format so I need to learn and understand it first. For now I'm not going to compare anything with the reward in the new format of the game and what I used to get in the modern format.

It is an experiment which I am doing to find out how is it going and probably after one season or two I will see how I should continue. Ultimately it is the same game and the difference is only between the type of format which is not a big thing in my opinion. Anyways I am dependent on the rental market so if I get better cards liquidity in the wild segment then I should go for that instead of struggling in the modern. Maybe this situation improves in future but for now I do not find it fruitful and that is why trying to have an experience in the wild format and see how it goes for me. I have also taken the archmage token. It will take some cut from my SPS earning which is fine because I would like to see how it works and what is the winning ratio it provides. I'll be playing manual battles as well in between but my plan is to keep a close eye on the overall gaming activities to see how is it going.

Cards Rental

I have done my rental for the current season and I hope the cards I have taken don't go away. Generally it happens that some of the cards are gone when the owner cancels the rental which is fine so I will try to keep a tab on this also to ensure my collection is not reduced and it is having adequate number of cards to keep the battling on.

I have shared a glimpse of cards that I have taken on the rent and obviously this is not the final list because the list is too long which I cannot share here. I used my credits and dec token for making the payment for the rental. I used almost all my credits available in the account. My supply for the DEC token is also low knock so I'll be trying to buy some and I also purchased the wild pass that cost two dollar and this amount can be paid in credits or in D E C.

My energy was idle at 50 for a very long time but I'm glad that now it has been used and hopefully it will not stay at fifty anymore. Keeping the energy count at 50 is a waste of it and this is not the idle scenario but because I was not available to play so it was getting wasted continuously but now I will try not to do this anymore.

SPS

I had some liquid SPS balance which I have powered up just now and now again I am planning to buy a bunch of SPS coins and obviously I will be powering up those as soon as I move them into the game account.

This is what I have as of now and the current balance is more than 41K SPS power. My goal is to have 100k sps by this year 2025. I hope I'm able to do this and I will try my best to achieve this milestone because in the current year we are left with more than seven months and I believe this is a good enough time to do this. Surely the focus and attention is required and I'll do that because I believe this game is going to grow a lot especially when the market is in better situation so it is also expected that the price for SPS will grow and before that happens I should be able to get a good quantity of sps tokens staked in my game account.

That is all for the day and I hope to have a good experience while playing in the wild format. I was not aware of it however after going through couple of blogs in the past I got to know about it and some people are literally having fun playing in the wild format. I realised that the rental cost is slightly low in this segment of cards so if it is a good point then I would surely consider to continue with it but let us see how things go after this season and I will share my experience overall once this season ends.
