I’m in some NFT gaming groups in Web2 and I’ve been talking about @splinterlands, how it works, and everything you need to know about the game in this year 2025.

That’s why I decided to make this post about possible paths or alternatives if you’re just starting with the spellbook, or options based on how I think you can have a smooth and friendly journey in this challenge of gaming and NFT video games.
This post will be useful both for new players and for those returning to the game after a few months away.

🔹RENTING OR BUYING
When you get the spellbook, the system gives you some credits that, in my opinion, are better spent on buying your first NFT cards.

Let me give you this comparison: buying a house. In the long run, it’s always better to own your own property, because you can sell it later or even better, its value can go up. On the other hand, if you rent, the price might increase in the future and you may not be able to afford the rent—or even worse, there might not be a house available at all.

The same thing happens with cards: if you own them, your investment cost will gradually go down because you’re building your own assets.
So, my friend, start small. I’m not saying you shouldn’t rent cards, but try to keep rentals to only about 10% of your lineup.

🔹EXTRA INVESTMENT
Besides the spellbook and the few cards you can buy, you definitely need to purchase additional cards to face ranked battles, because currently, the better your card level and collection, the easier it will be to win.
I would say you should consider investing another $15 (although you might need more). Always prioritize having at least level 3 summoners. This part is optional, but I suggest it to shorten your path in the game and improve your overall gameplay experience.

This token, in case you didn’t know, is part of the game and you need to own some or rent it, which in my opinion is the most viable option (renting by season).

I suggest renting at least 50k SPS so you can earn well in ranked matches and also get glint to spend in the shop (there are cards there too).

If you don’t rent a good amount of SPS, your earnings per victory will be very, very small.

🔹YOU’RE GOING TO LOSE A LOT
Don’t get discouraged if you lose battles it’s all part of the learning curve.
You need to learn combat rules, battle abilities, synergies, and which cards work best in ranked matches.
That’s why my biggest advice is: enjoy the game, and I’ll always say this you need to like card games if you want to have a good time here.

To be honest, based on the conditions of your account as described in this post, your ROI might take about 1 year, but don’t worry there’s another way.
That way is through posting content. If you are disciplined and create good content, I estimate that in 2 months of consistently posting about Splinterlands, you could recover your investment.
Tournaments can also help you a lot in recovering your investment, but they require your time on weekends, which is when most events take place.

Estoy en algunos grupos de videojuegos nft en web2 y he estado hablando de @splinterlands frente a como funciona y todo lo que tienes que saber frente al juego en este año 2025.
Es por eso que me anime a hacer este post frente a caminos o alternativas si solo empiezas con el libro de hechizos o opciones frente a como yo pienso que seria un camino tranquilo y amigable en este reto del gaming y los videojuegos nfts.
Este post le va a servir tanto a los nuevos como a los que retoman el juego después de unos meses de descanso.
Sin tanta introducción tocaremos estos temas:

• Rentar o comprar
• Inversión extra
• Sps
• Vas a perder mucho
• El roi y Los torneos

RENTAR O COMPRAR
Cuando obtienes el libro el sistema te da unos créditos que desde mi punto de vista es mejor gastarlo en comprar tus primeras cartas nft. Te pongo este ejemplo de comprar una casa, ya que esta a largo plazo siempre sera mejor tener tus propia propiedad y a futuro la puedes vender o incluso mucho mejor se puede valorizar, mientras que si la arquilas puede que a futuro te incremente el precio y no tengas como pagar el alquiler o mucho peor no haya una casa para vivir. Eso mismo pasa con las cartas ya que si las obtienes tu costo de inversion poco a poco se reducirá, ya que estas obteniendo tus propios activos. Así que amigo empieza poco a poco, no te digo que no arquiles cartas pero que sean solo un 10% de tu alineación.

INVERSIÓN EXTRA
Aparte del libro y las pocas cartas que puedes comprar si o si tienes que comprar cartas adicionales para afrontar las batallas en las rankeds, ya que actualmente entre mejor sea tu nivel de cartas y colección mas fácil sera ganar.
Yo diría que otros 15 dólares tendrías que pensar para invertir ( aunque necesitaras más ), eso si siempre prioriza tener invocadores de nivel 3 mínimo. Esta parte es opcional , pero te la pongo para acortar un poco ese camino en el juego y que tu experiencia de juego sea mejor.

SPS
Este token por si no sabes hace parte del juego y debes tener propio o arquilar, que para mi es la opción mas viable ( arquilar por temporada ). Yo te sugiero que arquiles desde 50k sps hacia arriba para poder tener ganancias en las rankeds como a su vez obtengas glint para gastarlo en la tienda ( allí también hay cartas ). Ya que si no arquilas una buena cantidad en sps , tus ganancias por victoria serán muy pero muy pocas.

VAS A PERDER MUCHO
No te desesperes si pierdes las batallas ya que esto es una curva de aprendizaje. Te lo digo porque tienes que aprendes reglas de combate, habilidades de batalla, sinergias y que cartas son las que mas funcionan en las rankeds, es por eso que mi mayor consejo es que disfrutes el juego y siempre lo diré te deben de gustar los juegos de cartas si quieres tener una buena estancia aquí.

EL ROI Y LOS TORNEOS
Si te soy honesto con las condiciones de tu cuenta en base a este post, el roi se te puede ir a 1 año, pero tranquilo que existe otra manera. Esta manera es mediante los post ya que si sos disciplinado y creas buen contenido, te calculo que en 2 meses subiendo contenido de splinterlands puedes recuperar la inversión.
Esta parte de los torneos también te puede ayudar mucho a recuperar la inversión , pero requiere de tu tiempo los fines de semana que es donde hay mas eventos.

En general siento que este juego es un gran proyecto, eso si requiere de tiempo y dedicación si quieres ser un buen jugador. Otro aspecto es que tienes que estar en constante actualizaciones ya que el equipo lanza cambios y actualizaciones que pueden cambiar el panorama del juego.
