Social Media Challenge: Halfling Refugee [EN - ESP]

Social Challenge.png

Hello to all my dear Splinterlands friends. I hope your start to summer, or winter if you're reading this from the southern hemisphere, is going well and you're able to enjoy the upcoming holidays to the fullest. For my part, it's another day in front of the computer fulfilling my commitment to the Social Media Challenge, a challenge I always enjoy and that's really useful for learning and discovering new skills and strategies with cards already in my roster. That said, this week is going to be a little different, and I'm going to analyze and study a card that's not in my possession. I've encountered it in two consecutive battles, and it's particularly caught my attention. So much so that I've decided to study it and evaluate it as a possible addition to my account, taking advantage of the fact that part of the income from this type of content is allocated to improving the games I'm immersed in from the Hive universe. So, here we go with a new analysis, this time, of a card that I don't own and that's unknown to me. We begin another week of the Social Media Challenge.

We begin, as usual, with a brief look at the card's lore and how it fits into the entire universe created in Splinterlands. The card I'm bringing to the analysis this week is none other than Halfling Refugee, a card that, as I said in the introduction, has caught my attention and curiosity after playing it in two consecutive battles. Even today, after more than three years in the game, there are cards that are beyond my control and that I don't know as well as I should. Halfling Refugee is one of them. This race from Praetoria are victims of war, famine, and disease. They fled their homeland and found refuge in Fireboro in one of the shelters created for this purpose by their chancellor. Thanks to him, they survive as members of the Fireboro Republic and keep their legacy alive in Splinterlands.

This week we're looking at a card from the neutral deck of epic rarity. This card has a curious thing: its base special ability is detrimental to its own performance in the game. However, its basic abilities are extraordinary, and it had to have some compensation so that it wouldn't be completely broken, as is often said on these occasions. As I said, it's a card with a melee attack that, initially, has two attack points, six vitality points, and three speed points in exchange for just one summoning mana point. The compensation for this power is the Weary ability, which causes it to have a 10% chance of suffering Exhausted in round 1, losing the option to attack in that round. With each round that passes, that probability increases by 10% up to the limit of 80% of suffering Exhausted. Its evolution will make it gain 3 attack points and two vitality points, while its speed remains unchanged. As a special ability, it will gain, at level 3, Heal, thus obtaining some healing in each round.

Now it's time for the sample battle. My opponent will be Kryptogeiger, and as I said, he's the player who will put the card analyzed this week onto the battlefield. There will be 26 summoning mana points available, and the battle conditions are Beefcakes, Are you not entertained?, and finally, Back to Basics. We're both going to build with Water decks, with Kelya Frendul as the summoner. Let's see how much damage Halfling Refugee can wreak on me from her tank position in this battle.
Habrá 26 puntos de maná de invocación disponibles y como condiciones de batalla presentes tenemos Beefcakes, Are you not entertained? y, por último, Back to Basics.

Link to the Battle

If Halfling Refugee is already incredibly dangerous with the abilities it provides and its ridiculously low summoning cost of one mana point, imagine if, in addition, among the battle conditions is Back to Basics, which eliminates the effect of special abilities. As I explained in the corresponding paragraph, the counterpart to a minimal cost and impressive basic abilities is the ability that increases the chance of losing its attack turn. With this battle condition, that handicap is eliminated, and it becomes a card that offers a lot for practically nothing. The conclusion is clear: I have to try this card in my roster and see if it adapts to my current decks to make the most of its structure. I will opt, as you can imagine, to rent it for a full season and then evaluate its inclusion. If I decide to buy it and add it to my roster, I will come back in a few months with an analysis, but from my perspective in favor and not from a battle in which I was a victim of Halfling Refugee.
