Engagement Challenge: Water combo 💧 [En - ESP]
Welcome dear friends to a new update on my blog about @splinterlands. I have started the week by adding a new article to the Social Media Challenge and I had another one in mind for the Engagement Challenge talking about the upcoming release of the Pickle card with the dates of the three stages. However, in an unexpected turn of events the Splinterlands team decided that this was not this week's topic, but something totally unexpected: the best combos of our strategies and I'm happy with the change because I'm looking forward to explaining one of my best strategies which, as you may have guessed, works with the aquatic deck. So, without further explanation, let's get to this week's article.

He empezado la semana sumando un nuevo artÃculo al Social Media Challenge y tenÃa en mente otro para el Engagement Challenge hablando de la próxima salida a la venta de la carta Pickle con las fechas de las tres etapas. Sin embargo, en un inesperado giro de los acontemientos el equipo de Splinterlands ha decidido que ese no era el tema de esta semana sino algo totalmente inesperado: los mejores combos de nuestras estrategias. Y yo feliz con el cambio porque tengo ganas de explicar una de mis mejores estrategias que, como ya habrás adivinado, funciona con el mazo acuático. Asà que, sin mayor explicación, vamos con el artÃculo de esta semana.
Obviously, it's no surprise to anyone that I'm writing an article explaining one of my most used combos with a Water deck. If the article were about a spectacular combo with a Fire, Life, or even Death deck, you might be surprised and you'd stop to wonder what kind of Djinn has usurped my identity. But no, today I'm going to show you one of my basic strategies with a Water deck under very specific battle conditions. Basically, the fundamental premise is that the amount of summoning mana available in combat is scarce. In the example battle you'll find below, the summoning mana we have is barely 23 points. An ideal situation to put my strategy into play and test how it works.
Evidentemente que yo haga un artÃculo explicando uno de los combos que más utilizo con el mazo de agua no es una sorpresa para nadie. Si el artÃculo fuera sobre un espectacular combo con el mazo de fuego, vida o incluso muerte te podrÃa llegar a sorprender y te pararias a ver qué tipo de Djinn ha usurpado mi identidad. Pero no, hoy te voy a mostrar una de mis estrategias básicas con el mazo de agua en condiciones de batalla muy concretas. Basicamente la premisa fundamental es que la cantidad de maná de invocación disponible en el combate sea escaso. En el caso de batalla de ejemplo que encontrarás más abajo el maná de invocación con el que contamos es de apenas 23 puntos. Situación ideal para poner en juego mi estrategia y comprobar su funcionamiento.
As I explained in the previous paragraph, the fundamental premise is that it is a battle with little summoning mana available and that, in addition, there are no battle conditions that eliminate from the options the cards with melee attack that will be the basis of my strategy. As a summoner we are going to use Kelya Frendul who gives us an extra point of speed and, in addition and more importantly, an extra point of shield that in these conditions is going to be of vital importance. The lineup is going to be completed with cards of just three summoning mana points of cost and with the ability to attack from the second line all of them. This is not a minor point since we try to cause the most damage possible in each round in a scenario in which there will not be cards with a lot of vitality in play. Let's see an example battle and, then, I will explain in detail the key points of the strategy to squeeze it to the maximum.
Como te explicaba en el párrafo anterior, la premisa fundamental es que sea una batalla con poco maná de invocación disponible y que, además, no haya ninguna condición de batalla que elimine de las opciones las cartas con ataque cuerpo a cuerpo que serán la base de mi estrategia. Como invocadora vamos a utilizar a Kelya Frendul que nos aporta un punto extra de velocidad y, además y más importante, un punto extra de escudo que en estas condiciones va a ser de vital importancia. La alineación la vamos a completar con cartas de apenas tres puntos de maná de invocación de coste y con capacidad para atacar desde la segunda lÃnea todas ellas. Esto no es un punto menor pues intentamos causar el mayor daño posible en cada ronda en un escenario en el que no habrá cartas con mucha vitalidad en juego Vamos a ver una batalla de ejemplo y, después, de cuento en detalle los puntos clave de la estrategia para exprimirla al máximo.
As you've already seen and read, 23 summoning mana points are available. As battle conditions present we will have Lost Legendaries, Weak Magic and Equalizer. All of these conditions are very useful considering that the strategy is based on melee attacks and shield cards, so Weak Magic is one of those conditions that is nice to have in mind when using this strategy and card combinations.
Como ya has visto y leÃdo, 23 puntos de maná de invocación disponibles. Como condiciones de batalla presentes tendremos Lost Legendaries, Weak magic y Equalizer. Todas ellas condiciones que nos vienen de lujo teniendo en cuenta que la estrategia se basa en el ataque cuerpo a cuerpo y con cartas con escudo por lo que Weak Magic es una de esas condiciones que alegra tener presentes cuando uso esta estrategia y combinaciones de cartas.
Well, that's how the battle went, right? You've seen it. Kelya Frendul contributing her bonuses, Sethropod as a tank, Tide Biter attacking from second position, Pelacor Bandit and Uraeus launching attacks from the second line, Merdhampir with a ranged attack closing the lineup, and a key card in the penultimate and well protected: Ujurak Elder. You can analyze Ujurak Elder on my blog, but his presence is also important, despite having a magic attack that is penalized by the Weak Magic condition, he also provides the Strengthen ability, which adds a point of vitality to all his lineup mates. In addition, since he has Camouflage, my opponent won't be able to remove this bonus throughout the entire fight. In short, the key points are: Low-mana summoning cards, attacking ability from any position, and especially taking advantage of the extra shield and speed provided by Kelya Frendul and the extra vitality provided by Ujurak Elder. Pues asà ha ido la batalla, bien, ¿no? Ya has visto. Kelya Frendul aportando sus bonus, Sethropod como tanque, Tide Biter atacando desde la segunda posición, Pelacor Bandit y Uraeus lanzando ataques desde la segunda lÃnea, Merdhampir con ataque a distancia cerrando la alineación y una carta clave en penúltima y bien resguardada: Ujurak Elder. De Ujurak Elder tienes su análisis en mi blog pero su presencia es también importante a pesar de tener ataque mágico que está penalizado por la condición Weak Magic pero es que aporta la habilidad Strengthen que añade un punto de vitalidad a todos los compañeros de alineación. Además, al contar con Camouflage mi rival no podrá eliminar este bonus en todo el combate. En resumen, los puntos clave son: cartas con poco maná de invocación, capacidad de ataque desde cualquier posición y, especialmente, aprovechar el punto extra de escudo y velocidad que aporta Kelya Frendul y el de vitalidad que nos dá Ujurak Elder. ¿Qué opinas de esta combinación y estrategia? ¿La has probado?
