Card Analysis: Lava Launcher [EN - ESP]
Good afternoon, dear friends of the Splinterlands universe. Here I am again, ending january by writing and fulfilling another card analysis every week. I hope the end of the year went fabulously and you enjoyed it to the fullest, and I also hope that this start to the year is being productive and good for all of you. I'm starting the year, as far as this blog is concerned, with a new analysis and, on this occasion, looking back at the past and analysing one of those cards that can already be considered veterans in the game. It's also a card from a deck that I don't use much, but I used it last weekend in a battle where it played a leading role and helped me achieve victory. Without further ado, I'm talking about Lava Launcher. This veteran card will be the subject of my first analysis of this new year 2026. Make yourself comfortable, and let's get started.

Aquí me tenéis de nuevo acabando este mes de enero escribiendo y cumpliendo como cada semana con mis análisis de algunas cartas en Splinterlands. Espero que el fin de año haya ido de fábula y hayáis disfrutado al máxmo y, también, espero que este comienzo de año esté siendo productivo y bueno para todos vosotros. Comienzo el año, en cuanto a este blog, con un nuevo análisis y, en esta ocasión, volviendo la mirada hacia el pasado y analizando una carta de esas que se pueden considerar ya veteranas en el juego. Además es una carta de un mazo que manejo poco pero que he utilizado el pasado find e semana con una batalla en la que fue protagonista y me ayudó a lograr la victoria. Os hablo, para no darle más vueltas, de Lava Launcher. Esta veteranísima carta del juego será la protagonista de mi primer análisis de este nuevo año 2026. ponte cómodo que comenzamos ya.
And yes, I did start the year wanting to take a look back at one of those cards that I used a lot a few months ago and that, now, with the evolution of the game and the arrival of new waves of cards, I use less and less. This card is Lava Launcher. This infernal machine is one of the great successes of the goblin engineers located in the Burning Lands. This version is the definitive version, and it actually shoots real lava. How did they do it? I have no idea, to be honest, but here we have a tank that really shoots hot lava. These goblins are proud to claim that of the first hundred Lava Launcher models developed and tested, less than 40 were able to shoot lava without burning the goblins inside. Don't tell me that Splinterlands lore isn't funny on many occasions.
Y es que si, efectivamente, he empezado el año con ganas de dar un vistazo al pasado y a una de esas cartas que utilicé de manera muy intensa hace meses y que, ahora, con la evolución del juego y la llegada de nuevas oleadas de cartas uso cada vez menos. Esta carta es Lava Launcher. Y es que esta máquina infernal es uno de los grandes éxitos de los ingenieros goblin ubicados en las Burning Lands. Y es que esta versión es la versión definitiva y esta si que lanza lava real. ¿Cómo lo han conseguido? Ni idea, la verdad, pero aquí tenemos un tanque que realmente lanza lava calentita. Estos goblins están orgullosos de afirmar que de los primeros cien modelos de Lava Launcher desarrollados y probados menos de 40 pudieron lanzar lava sin arder con goblins en su interior. No me digas que el lore de Splinterlands no es gracioso en muchas ocasiones.
Let's now analyze what this card offers us if we use it on the battlefield. To begin with, we have an epic rarity card from the fire deck that has a summoning cost of no less than nine mana points. This is obviously a very high cost, and we will only be able to use it on occasions when we have a good amount of mana available. In terms of its basic abilities, at its first level, it provides three points of ranged attack and speed, six points of shield (it is still a tank, after all), and five points of vitality. The summoning cost is high, but it also provides a lot of power. Its upgrade will be two points of attack and one point of shield and vitality throughout its six upgrade levels. In terms of special abilities, it has Close Range at its first level and will obtain Stun at level 4. Nothing more... and nothing less.
Vamos ahora a analizar qué es lo que nos ofrece esta carta si la utilizamos en el campo de batalla. Para empezar tenemos una carta de rareza épica del mazo de fuego que tiene un coste de invocación de nada menos que nueve puntos de maná. Es evidente que es un coste muy elevado y que no nos va a permitir utilizarla más que en ocasiones en los que haya una buena cantidad de maná disponible. En cuanto a sus habilidades básicas aporta, en su primer nivel, tres puntos de ataque a distancia y de velocidad, seis puntos de escudo, no deja de ser un tanque, y cinco puntos de vitalidad. El coste de invocación es elevado pero también aporta mucho poder. Su mejora será de dos puntos de ataque y uno de escudo y vitalidad a lo largo de sus seis niveles de mejora. En el apartado de habilidades especiales cuenta con Close Range en su primer nivel y obtendrá Stun en el nivel 4. Nada más... y nada menos.
This week's battle will be against @rachel33, and we're both using fire decks and will have several cards in common in our respective lineups. Drybone Megalodon, Kha'zi Conjurer, Firecaller, and Lava Launcher, so it will be great to see the card analyzed in two different strategies face to face. The battle conditions will be 42 mana points for summoning and Fire & Regret and Might Makes Right as conditions to take into account. Fire and death decks will be the only two that can be chosen in this battle.
La batalla de esta semana será contra @rachel33 y ambos formamos con un mazo de fuego y vamos a coincidir en varias cartas en nuestras respectivas alineaciones. Drybone Megalodon, Kha'zi Conjurer, Firecaller y Lava Launcher por lo que vendrá de lujo para ver en acción la carta analizada en dos estrategias diferentes frente a frente. Las condiciones de batalla serán 42 puntos de maná de invocación y Fire & Regret y Might Makes Right como condiciones a tener en cuenta. Los mazos de fuego y de muerte serán los dos únicos que se podían elegir en esta batalla.
You've seen the power and playability of Lava Launcher in this battle, in which this week's featured card was on both sides. The presence of Close Range completely changes the playability of this card, which has a powerful ranged attack that, thanks to this special ability, can be used even when it's in the first position of our lineup. This means that it can even serve as a tank at times, such as in battles where we can only use cards with ranged attacks, causing an impact and benefit that can be decisive. Its good stats in other skills such as speed, shield, and vitality make Lava Launcher a card that, despite the changes and new editions of recent months, still has a place in our strategies and continues to have really high playability today.
Bueno, interesante desempeño de Husk of the Hunter en esta batalla. vaya por delante que cuando esta carta llegó a mi mazo y la analicé en detalle me llevé una agradable sorpresa al ver su potencial y el hecho de que pueda acumular hasta cuatro habilidades especiales a lo largo de sus diez niveles de evolución. Mi objetivo con esta carta no es llevarla a su último nivel sino alcanzar, cuanto antes, el nivel 3. Ten en cuenta que aun estando a nivel 1 sin evolucionar ya entra en mis opciones de alineación por lo que te puedas imaginar qué cantidad de uso le voy a dar a medida que la vaya mejorando. En el momento de escribir este artículo tengo cuatro copias por lo que espero poder llevarla, como mínimo, a nivel 2 para el comienzo de la próxima temporada. Esos tres puntos de ataque a distancia combinados con la habilidad especial Sneak me ofrecen infinidad de opciones tácticas que no puedo dejar pasar por alto fomando parte, además, de uno de los dos mazos que tengo más evolucionados en mi roster. Y ahora te pregunto, despues de ver sus características y de verla en acción, ¿le ves capacidad e interés para ir a por ella e incluírla en tu roster y formación habitual? Te leo en comentarios.
