Death is STRONG in frontier (With my collection)

Greetings everyone and welcome to another Splinterlands post. As some of you may know I've actually recently streamed this game on twitch and have some insights about what lineups and gods are strong with a basic collection in the new format. Without suprise death is one of the deadliest splinters available to a "foundations entry level" player. Death sports a strong lineup with some of the only antimagic tanks and tech in foundations early on. This can be massive in various rulesets and against various splinters (I'm looking at you water, damn spellslingers). Not to mention their summoner is the best summoner in a vacuum.

Strategic Insights: HP reduction is King

As I've stated many times in the past, team buffs and debuffs are the strongest effects in the game. Due to a limited amount of said buffs and debuffs in foundations the current best god/splinter I've found is death. They have numerous blanket -1 health debuffs possible in their lineup. Which is massive in many rulesets (including poison and earthquake), and in general is a strong buff even outside of that. It's the splinter domain I won the most with on my recent streams and definitely performs.

The cards in particular I end up utilizing the most are Nim Guard Captain, New Beluroc Aegis, and Sorrow Harvester. Most of the time you are using one of these cards in almost every lineup for the following reasons.

Nim Guard Captain : Adept Void Tank

This card is fairly statted for being a void tank in foundations and is the only default card with void at your disposal. This alone is a reason death is pretty strong, void is a crucial ability for the meta.

New Beluroc Aegis : All eyes on me, Damage sponge

This card is the only available card with taunt in your default lineup. Stalling damage to your glass cannons can be crucial often and should not be underestimated.

Sorrow Harvester : Strong magic damage, and blanket debuff

This card is my strongest pack pull so far. It debuffs the whole board and provides 2 magic damage at lvl 1. It's incredibly strong in the foundations format.

Thalgrimore: Best Summoner?

This guy might be the best summoner in foundations I have encountered so far, reducing all of your enemies HP by 1 is a massive debuff in this mode where there aren't many to be found and works in almost every lineup.

I have numerous examples of lineups involving these cards in my twitch VOD here if anyone is wishing to check them out.

Talking Tidbits: Fundations, bringing back my interest

The new foundations format actually has me motivated to complete my daily missions in the format. Any and every card collected is a massive improvement to my lineups. Even the silly ones with terrible stats have places in certain rulesets, the is the first time I've been interested in collecting new cards in Splinterlands for a while, a very very long while. It's refreshing, I used to enjoy aspects of this games competitive scene and leaderboard dynamic with the different levels and strengths available for each card at each rank. This mode gives me nostalgia to those times when being competitive actually had value within this ecocsytem and it wasn't overtly a pay2win dynamic. Modern is still that, but we aren't talking about modern are we? We are just enjoying foundations to the fullest and loving every minute of it.

Im finding that my Earth cards are my winning combo (although i just opened a scaleweaver so that may change!)

Dread Tafarian and Mad Gearhead are a great pair in frontier.

I agree Death is the strongest overall for Frontier. Personally, I think it goes something like Death > Earth > Water > Life > Fire
