The Essential Foundation Cards

Hello Splinterlands players, I hope you have a nice day! I would like to talk about the Foundation cards. They are free to earn in the Frontier format of Splinterlands. They are designed to be earned while playing and giving the players a chance to grow and upgrade their collection. Players who would like to hasten their development can choose to buy them directly instead of waiting for luck to get the essential cards. These are cards that when you get them will make life easier simply because of the advantage they bring to the game. My opinion is based on my experience playing the game. Other players may have different views.

Archons

The archons are lynchpin of the team. The level of the archons determine the level of the units they can bring in battle. Maximizing the level of archons is utmost priority in Splinterlands. I would recommend maxing Water, Earth and Fire first followed by Death in that order. The Life archon is not that essential in my opinion but also nice to have it max.

Legendary Cards

For the legendary cards, the number one pick is Mystic Scaleweaver. It's dominance in the frontier cannot be argued. It's simply the best card.

It's three magic attack is the highest in the frontier. It has the ability slow to decrease the opponent team's speed.

Other legendary cards but less in the priority list are A'lan Musketeer and Giam Root. I covered these cards in a previous post. They will give players an advantage but not as huge as having a Mystic Scaleweaver in the team.

Epic Cards

For the epic cards, Water again takes precedence.

The two cards especially Asel Alagosdil, a low mana tank will take your game to another level once you possess them. Battles will become easier and your win rate will sky rocket once you add these cards in your team.

Other epic cards that are game changers are the Death units.

These epic cards are essential if you want a good Death team. They have high attack and essential abilities to take your game to another level.

Rare Cards

For the rare cards, there are some that are important because of their abilities.

Water-Logged Wizard should be brought to level three at the minimum. In this level, she will have Deflect that may play a role in Explosive Weaponry modifiers. It also makes the card unaffected by magic reflect which may prove important in battles.

Vicious Quilliun should also be at level three to increase its attack to two. It will then be on par with the Vengeful Monk who has the same attack and ability.

Paprikash should be at least level two to get Reach ability. Raising it to level three then increase its attack to two.

Common Cards

Raising these common cards to maximum level not only increase their stats but also give them an ability in the end. Unlike the other tanks Dread Tafarian and Nim Guard Captain, these tanks don't have an ability at level one. They only gain an ability at maxed level.
