An Ultra Rare Black and Gold Variant Foil Team

Hello Splinterlands players, I hope you have a nice day! Look at this team my opponent has. It was an all ultra rare card made of Black and Arcane foil cards from the archon to the very last unit. I would like to point it out because this is an enviable card collection that I wish to have.

The owner of the cards is Mori-No-Giant. All the cards he had in the battle was Black foil except for the last card Vicious Quilliun. It was an Gold foil Arcane variant. These are all ultra rare card and cost more than the average cards out there. By my estimate, the cards he laid out cost around more than $50. It's an expensive collection and I would guess that these are not the only ultra rare cards he has. On to the battle, I won surprisingly.

I had the exact same team but no Black foil or Gold variants. A couple of my cards were not maximized so how did I win this battle? When I replayed the battle, I saw that Mori no Giant misplaced his Mad Gearhead.

It's a card that should be placed in second because it has an ability called Reach. With the ability, it can use melee attack from second position. Instead, it was placed in third where it cannot attack. The slight mistake was enough for me to take the victory despite having weaker cards. Perhaps this is the takeaway from this battle. Strong cards are well and good but how you use them to take advantage of the abilities they offer is what wins battles. I was satisfied to win the battle but I'm envious of Mori's cards. They were all nice to have than my plain cards. I do have two Black foil cards that I'm proud to show.
