A week ago, I posted an article sharing what I considered—and still consider—to be the best “Support” card in the Modern format. Of course, I couldn’t leave that post standing without sharing the next part with all of you: the best “Support” card but this time in “Wild Format,” where the choice is a bit more complicated due to the large number of cards that exist. Of course, I didn’t include cards from sets that are part of “Modern Format,” since that wouldn’t make any sense.
So for this analysis—or rather, for choosing the BEST Support card in the Wild Format—I’m basing my selection solely on cards from the Alpha/Beta, Untamed, and Chaos Legion sets, since these are the oldest sets in the game and, of course, cannot be played in the “Modern Format.” I’ve also taken into account all the sets associated with these editions, of which there are several, so, just like in the previous analysis of the best card in Modern, here I’ll detail the usual information: its stats, abilities, and why I think it’s the best in Wild for this purpose.
If you want to know which card it is, and you’re also an active player in the “Wild Format,” this information will be of great interest to you. If you don’t already have it in your deck, you should add it, because it’s undoubtedly a very good “card.”

The BEST support card in the Wild Format is undoubtedly the card called “Adelade Brightwing” from the “Chaos Legion” set—a set that features incredible cards, and buying them along with their predecessors was certainly quite a challenge; However, when I set out to find the most well-rounded Support card possible, this card met all the criteria I had set for myself. Of course, unlike choosing a card for the Modern format, this was more complicated for the simple reason that there are many more cards to choose from; nevertheless, my conclusion is that this card deserves this spot.
I already explained how to choose correctly in the first post; however, so that everyone understands how to select the best type of cards if they ever need to, a “Support” card is one that not only supports its allies in various ways but also has the ability to attack and defend itself during battle. This is important because if it can’t defend itself and we delegate that task to another card, it ceases to be a complete “Support” card—but this one can do all of that.
But, so you can understand me, let’s look at what we need to analyze in every card: its “Stats and Abilities”:

Okay, for this analysis, we’re always going to use the same format so you can understand everything this card has to offer on the battlefield. This will give you a more visual idea of how it works and why I say it’s a very well-rounded card in its category:
Splinter, Set, and Rarity: This card belongs to the Life Splinter set—one of my recent favorites. Also, as I mentioned earlier, it’s from the “Chaos Legion” set and is “Legendary” in rarity. Maybe that’s why it’s so good, but it definitely meets the criteria I mentioned.
Mana Cost: This card has a mana cost of 7 points, which is a bit expensive for a “Support” card—that’s true. However, since it’s more well-rounded than the rest of the cards, that’s the least of its concerns, so it can adapt to practically any battle scenario.
Attack Type and Speed: This card’s attack type is one of my favorites—you can probably guess what it is—so its attack is “Magic.” On the other hand, its weakness lies in its speed, which is only 1 point. This might seem like a weakness, but the reality is that it isn’t that important because its strength lies in support, and offense is secondary in this case.
Health and Shield: It has no shield, but of course it does have health points, which, at its maximum level—which is how we’re interested in analyzing and using it—total 5 points.
This card has 5 abilities, which is why I consider it truly well-rounded. But to give you a general idea of when and how to use it—even though it can be adapted to any type of scenario as long as its “Splinter/Element” is always available—let’s take a look at those abilities:
| Card Level | Unlocked Abilities | Tactical Impact on the Battlefield |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Flying + Repair | Restores the armor of the allied monster that has taken the most damage to its shields each round. |
| Level 2 | Resurrect | Revives the first allied unit eliminated in combat, returning it with 1 health point and 100% of its original armor. |
| Level 3 | Immunity | Is completely immune to all negative effects and status conditions (Poison, Affliction, Stun, etc.). |
| Level 4 | Swiftness | Increases the speed of all allied units by +1 point. |

This is the most important question in the entire post, because I intend to explain why I chose her for this role, and the reason is quite simple and has a lot to do with the way the game is played in “Wild Format” as well, since this is a mode where many tanks, units with very high armor, and lots of defensive combos are used, so Adelade fits perfectly into these types of compositions thanks to her abilities.

The (Repair + Resurrect) Loop: When paired with tanks such as Uriel the Purifier, Shieldbearer, or Imperial Knight in Savage mode (especially under Summoners like Grandmaster Rathe or Chanseus the Great), Adelade repairs the tank’s armor every turn of the battle. Furthermore, if the enemy manages to breach the defense and destroy the tank, Adelade activates Resurrect to bring it back with full armor. In the next round, she will begin repairing that armor again.
Total Immunity: At Level 3, Adelade is completely immune to Poison and Affliction. This prevents the opponent from effectively stopping our main healer through indirect debuff effects.
Direct Offensive Presence: Unlike many supports who don’t attack or have weak stats, Adelade deals 2 points of magic damage, piercing through shields while protecting my team with her shield—or, failing that, reviving the first teammate to fall.
NOTE: Some other great cards I considered when making my selection are “Angel of the Light” and “Merdaali Guardian.” They’re incredible Support-type cards, although they have no attack, which is the only reason I ruled them out.

Now that we know which are the best “Support” cards in both game formats, the truth is that both cards are very useful at what they do. I think my choices were sound based on their functions. On the other hand, let me know if you’d like to see this done with other types of cards—for example, (Assassins, Tanks, Double Attack), etc.
