I recently noticed that they’ve added a new option to the game’s “Campaign Mode,” and it’s great because it gives you a deeper understanding of what it means to combine your cards and devise strategies that increase your chances of winning. Plus, as you complete the challenges, it gives you those “tips” you need to understand why a certain ability works well with another, or why you should try using a different type of attack that benefits you while your opponent can’t take advantage of it. So, from what I’m seeing, this adds another layer of learning to “Campaign Mode”—something new players really need given the game’s complexity.
I haven't seen anyone on Hive talking about this new chapter in "Campaign Mode," so I've taken the liberty of doing so for anyone who hasn't yet, but for new users who might find these types of battles a bit tricky—which is normal—I’ll give you a step-by-step guide on how to complete these challenges, starting with the first one in this post. The idea is to analyze the correct positioning; of course, that doesn’t mean you can’t do it on your own with a couple of tries, but the idea is to simplify the process and understand why we need to place each card in its proper position.
So, if you want to know how this new chapter of the campaign mode called “Battle Challenges” works, read this post all the way through—it’s designed to help everyone learn how the game works, make progress the right way, and also learn how to play “Challenge #1.”

I think I already answered this in the introduction to this post, but for anyone who feels lost, I’ll explain it quickly and simply—although it’s best when we can see for ourselves how to tackle that first challenge in order to improve our own gaming experience and the way we play:
With that in mind, “Battle Challenges” is a new initiative in campaign mode designed to further immerse new players and help them learn more about gameplay, combos, and decision-making as they encounter various scenarios in that mode. In short, it works perfectly for practicing and continuing to train players.
The truth is very simple—there’s nothing more to say about how it works or what it is—so, to make this post more engaging, the idea is to explain how you can tackle these challenges. So, without further ado, let’s jump right into the first challenge to explain how it works:

As you can see in the image, Challenge 1 is relatively simple, but it’s not just a single question—since the idea is to test it on the battlefield—that’s why the lineup our opponent will use is shown below the question. Although you can see the opponent’s lineup, the idea is for you to take advantage of and/or respond on the battlefield with the type of attack that, in this case, maximizes the bonus “Marlai” offers on the battlefield—which is +1 magic attack point.
So, now that the conditions are clear, we need to put together our lineup:

As you can see, we have to build our deck based on the conditions they’ve set for us, which are actually quite simple to manage, since there aren’t really any modifiers to follow and the amount of available mana is quite large. So, it will be easy. Even so, the correct combination of cards we need to take advantage of the bonus “Marlai” gives us as Archon is as follows:
Port Guardian: This character is in first place, and it's pretty easy to see why. Even though he's a melee attacker, he has the most health and shield of any card, so he serves as our frontline defense.
Great Bear Druid: This character is second in the lineup, although he could technically play any other position on the field; however, his melee attack makes him a strong contender to take the tank's spot, even though he receives a magic attack bonus.
Water Logged Wizard: This girl is already an integral part of our team’s main attack, since she gains an attack bonus from our Archon. Furthermore, the reason for placing her in this position is that, thanks to her “Reflecting Shield” ability, she can reduce redirected attacks to 0, creating a barrier that prevents them from reaching the monsters behind her.
Lunari Howler: This is the 4th slot—nothing special—it gets an attack bonus and has a decent amount of health.
Mystic Scaleweaver: Our best warriors are already at this level, since this card typically has +3 melee attack points, and if we add the power bonus granted by the “Archon,” that would be +4—not to mention that, thanks to its “Slow” ability, it reduces the speed of the opponent’s cards.
Saltwater Mage: She is the last in the lineup, but this is to protect her from being eliminated prematurely, since—thanks to her “Sneak” ability—she focuses on attacking the last opponent in the lineup. She starts with +2 magic attack points, but with the bonus, that increases to 3 points.
NOTE: While this is a very easy battle, that doesn't mean we shouldn't think carefully about where to place our cards. If you've read the above carefully, the idea is to think clearly about why we should place each card in its specific position. This might seem too basic and unimportant, but it's actually essential for success on the battlefield.

With that, I hope you now understand what the new “Campaign Mode” chapter called “Battle Challenges” is all about. It starts with 7 challenges, so it’ll be interesting to see how the difficulty of each one increases as you work your way up to the last one. But don’t worry—since there aren’t that many, I’ll cover each challenge in a separate post so we can all analyze the lineups together.
If you have any questions about this and you're new here, leave a comment on this post—and even if you're not, go ahead and comment anyway, haha.
