Best regards Splinterlovers đź’š

In Splinterlands, there are hundreds and thousands of cards that can perform very well in certain game scenarios. Of course, whether one card performs better than another depends on many factors; however, I’m one of those who believes there are cards—or a specific card—that’s the best of all in certain areas. For example, in today’s post, I’ll share what I consider to be the best SUPPORT card in the entire game, but I’ve broken this down by format, and I want to start with “Modern.”

That’s why in this post I’ll, of course, tell you which card I consider the best SUPPORT card of all—limited solely to the MODERN FORMAT for now; later I’ll do one for WILD— but first, I want to explain why this card is the best—its abilities and effects, of course—and why I consider it the best of all. Finally, I’ll mention two honorable mentions: two cards that are also excellent, but I had to make a decision first.

So, if you want to know which is the best SUPPORT card in the game for the MODERN FORMAT, stick around until the end of this post—I’m sure you’ll like it and find it interesting:

Anasth Soothsayer: The Queen of Support in the Modern Format

Okay, the first thing I’ll do is explain what a “Support Card” is—but don’t worry, I won’t go on too long— but it’s simple: a “Support Card” is one that doesn’t function like a typical “Offensive” or “Defensive” card, but rather one that’s responsible for assisting your allies—I mean, healing them, repairing their armor, removing magical debuffs, reviving them, and so on. There are many aspects to it, but basically, that’s what they do.

But before I explain why I consider this card to be the best SUPPORT card in the “Modern Format,” I’ll first take a look at the card’s stats and abilities. This will show you firsthand what this card has to offer and why it’s special, and in the next section, I’ll give you my opinion on the matter.

Statistics for “Anasth Soothsayer”

First, we’ll look at her stats, and from there I’ll break down everything she brings to the table right from the start—although it’s not the stats that define whether a card is “Support” or not, but rather her abilities. also, you’ll notice that on the “Offensive” side, it isn’t very useful, but it’s exactly the opposite when it comes to “Support,” since it has several great features that make it a very versatile card.

But let’s look at its stats first:

  • Splinter, Edition, and Rarity: This card is the Water Splinter; it also belongs to the “Rebellion” edition and is a “Rare” card, so its value isn’t particularly high, but it isn’t low either, considering that it requires a significant number of copies to max it out.

  • Mana Cost: This card costs 6 mana to play, which is a fairly reasonable cost for a card with its stats.

  • Attack Type and Speed: This card has the Magic attack type, and its speed remains at 1 at all levels; that’s why I mentioned it isn’t particularly special on the “offensive” side.

  • Health and Shield: It has no shield, but it does have a good amount of health—specifically, 9 points.

Abilities

She has 5 abilities in total, which is somewhat unusual for a conventional “Support” card. That’s why this card is special to me—because having 5 abilities means her role isn’t limited to simple healing; she can support her team in many other ways, and that’s what truly matters in a “Support Card.” That’s why, with this type of card, abilities are crucial in determining their effectiveness on the battlefield.

But to help you understand better, this time I’ve created a “table” where I describe all of her abilities and the levels at which they’re unlocked, to be more specific:

Card LevelUnlocked AbilitiesTactical Impact on the Battlefield
Level 1CleanseRemoves all negative status effects (Poison, Affliction, Demoralize, Shatter) from the main tank at the start of their turn.
Level 2Tank HealRestores 33% of the maximum health of the tank in the first position each round.
Level 4LookoutReduces the damage taken by adjacent allies from Snipe, Sneak, and Opportunity attacks by 1 point.
Level 6DispelRemoves all positive effects and buffs stacked on the enemy target when it is hit by your magical attack.
Level 8DodgeIncreases the chance to dodge melee and ranged attacks by 25%.

Because “Anasth Soothsayer” is the best SUPPORT card in MODERN

The Modern Format offers many current ways to approach the game with strategies and combinations; however, the current META focuses on dealing damage not only through attacks but also through more destructive status effects that gradually chip away at your health points, leaving you powerless to do much unless you’re prepared. These abilities or effects I’m mentioning can include (Poison, Affliction), for example, which apply poison, and the other prevents Tanks from healing if they’re affected, or (Shatter and Corrosive Ward), which target armor.

As you can see, these are conditions that often occur in a single battle, but you need more than just one “Support” card to fully counteract them. However, the “Anasth Soothsayer” card solves these problems in one fell swoop. For example:

  • The “Cleanse + Tank Heal” Combination: For example, if used correctly, this card can neutralize the tank’s “Affliction” or poison with its “Cleanse,” and then, if the tank takes further damage, it can recover with “Tank Heal.”

  • The Speed Advantage: This card’s speed allows it to act before most enemy attacks, making it very useful in that regard—a strength that its stats and abilities work together to highlight.

  • Protection Against Assassins: The “Lookout” ability grants it the capacity to reduce damage from attacking units with assassin abilities such as “Sneak,” “Snipe,” and “Opportunity,” for example.

NOTE: All of this is what makes this card the BEST SUPPORT card in the Modern format, in my opinion—though I may have missed a card or two—but this one is great, though as an “HONORARY MENTION” I could name the cards called (Daarg Deadblast and White Chickadee)—the first granting attack, speed, and healing to the most damaged unit, and the second with Tank Heal and the ability to fly.

Conclusion

What do you think of my pick for the game's best SUPPORT card? There are probably better ones for other players, but this is one of the most well-rounded ones I've seen—at least in "MODERN." But if you have other suggestions, leave a comment and let's discuss it. I love discovering hidden gems among the game's cards. I'll read your comments…
