Best regards Splinterlovers 💚

It’s still Sunday, even though it’s almost midnight, but I didn’t want to end the day without sharing a card analysis. And honestly, the card I’ve chosen this week is pretty interesting—in fact, it might be one of my favorites since I started sharing cards once a week again, because I’m one of those players who prefers the tactical side of the game—cards that aren’t just powerful, but have a deeper strategic purpose than any other card. Plus, I really like cards that can be combined to create a much more powerful combo, and that’s exactly where “HROLFA” comes in—a spectacular card from “Arcane Conclave.”

So, in this post, I’ll explain everything about the card called “HROLFA”—a card unlike the rest, since many of them prioritize raw power over utility or synergy, even though this often works and a single card can certainly wreak havoc on the enemy lineup, but the idea is to combine your strengths with cards that support one another—at least that’s my playstyle—and with this card, you’ll see why.

So, if you want to know everything about “HROLFA,” stick around until the end of this post—you’re sure to learn something new about strategy and the right way to choose cards for a more balanced and complementary deck:

Detailed Analysis and Statistics for “HROLFA”

As I always say, cards have their own way of performing on the battlefield thanks to their base stats, in fact, that’s the first thing you should look at, since this will let you know whether you can place that unit on the front lines because it’s offensive, or whether, on the contrary, it should be in a mid-range position—or even in the rear—because it provides support to the entire team, in addition to “Defense,” of course. That’s why “Stats” are one of the most important factors to consider when evaluating a card.

So, what are these “HROLFA” statistics?

Statistics for “HROLFA”

  • Rarity, Splinter, and Lineage: This is an Epic card, so we already know it’s valuable. On top of that, it’s a dual-element card, belonging to the “Life and Water” elements, and its lineage is “Minotaur.” This means it can be played not only with these Splinters but also with any other “Minotaur,” regardless of its element. In fact, since we know its Splinterlands, we can already guess what kind of card it is, right?

  • Mana Cost, Attack, and Speed: This card’s mana cost is quite affordable—in fact, it costs only 6 points, making it very versatile and easy to include in combos. It also has +3 “Rank” attack points, which is pretty good, since it’s a strong offensive card. Finally, it has +3 Speed points, which is average—neither too slow nor too fast—so I’d say it’s pretty good.

  • Shield and Health: It has +2 shield points and 5 health points, so while it isn’t a very durable card, it has enough to last several rounds on the field. However, it’s one of those cards where you need to know where to position it to protect it and let it do its job.

"HROLFA" Abilities

This is another one of the most important aspects of a card, since it defines when and how to play it in conjunction with its stats to get the most out of it. This means that if we analyze a card thoroughly, we can immediately identify the best scenario to make the most of it—though, to give you a heads-up, this card can be played in practically any type of battle, which is why it’s so valuable and versatile depending on the team we put it on.

His Abilities

  • Protect and Repair: These are two distinct abilities, but I’m grouping them together because they create incredible synergy. To start with, “Protect” provides +2 shield points, while “Repair” activates whenever the card with the highest shield damage on our side of the field takes damage, restoring a portion of the shield—which can be quite frustrating for the opponent, as it creates a very strong defensive wall.

  • Pint Point: This is a great ability, as its effect is simple enough to make it easy to use this card correctly. It ensures that attacks on our side of the field that come from the “Sneak” ability never miss—it’s impossible for them to fail— so it’s clearly an incredible boost to the offense. Therefore, we should definitely play cards with the “Melee” attack type and at least two of them with the “Sneak” ability to apply pressure from the back line.

  • Dodge: This is a “Defensive” ability, but it applies to the card itself, giving it a 25% chance to dodge attacks. Therefore, if we manage to increase our card’s speed by 1 point using another “Support” card that provides that boost, combined with “Dodge,” we could make “HROLFA” quite difficult to defeat.

Conclusion

With all this, we easily have a card that excels on all three fronts: “Defense,” thanks to its first two abilities, which combine perfectly; then there’s the “Offense,” which, thanks to its third ability, allows the “Sneak” team to act without fail, and finally, an additional defense for itself with “Dodge.” This makes it an extremely well-rounded card that works in all kinds of scenarios—not just one specific one—since it can handle any of them.

Tell me what you think of this card. Did you know all of “HROLFA’s” effects and how to play it?
