Best regards Splinterlovers 💚

Okay, just yesterday I talked about how tournaments work from a really basic perspective so that anyone—including new players—could understand everything they need to know to play. This is essential so they can understand the step-by-step process before getting started and exploring tournaments, because if they don’t, they’ll surely run into problems and face various obstacles that will prevent them from playing freely in this game mode. However, if you already have that information and, of course, read my post, then you’re already halfway there—all that’s left is to come up with a preparation strategy for when you’re ready to start. That said, for anyone who’s lost, if you click HERE, you can read my post and get up to speed on everything.

So, picking up where I left off, the next step is to prepare properly for the game and, in a way, get a head start on our opponents. In these types of game modes, where we’ll be facing “Elite” players—no matter which league you choose— the best players usually sign up for every tournament—since that’s how they maximize their rewards—you have to be 100% prepared because they’re like gazelles; they won’t give you a moment’s respite, which is why you need to get a head start and be ready.

That’s why I’m writing this post—because “tournaments” tend to be very lucrative, but they require a lot of preparation, perseverance, and learning about the game. But today, we’ll focus on all aspects of preparation; gameplay is a separate topic. So if you want to learn more about this, stick around until the end.

Preparing Your “Collection or Rentals”

Okay, in the previous post I mentioned that you don’t need all the cards or a huge collection to win tournaments—instead, you need the right cards. And to do that, you need some information first before moving on to what I mentioned in this “Subheading.” So, the first thing you need in order to choose the right cards is the following:

  • Choosing a Tournament: First, before choosing your cards, you need to know which tournaments you’re going to play in, because otherwise you won’t be able to figure out what kind of cards you need or which specific set will be played in that tournament—so this is the most important step.

  • Understand the Conditions: I mentioned this in the first post, but you need to understand the conditions, as well as the cards you need to proceed, because otherwise you could put yourself at a significant disadvantage.

How Do You Choose the Right Cards?

  • Rental Strategy: This is essential for those who don’t have the specific cards they need for the tournament, but they must be clear that it requires an investment. However, it’s the ideal option for getting exactly the specific cards you need—not one more, not one less—which will allow you to optimize your strategies and be on equal footing with your opponents. One of the platforms I recommend for this is “Peakmonsters.” NOTE: If you have your own cards that work well for the tournament, it’s important to take that into account—this way, you’ll save money on rentals.

  • Versatile Cards: Very important: Even though you need specific cards, you may not need every card in that set, so the priority is to focus on those versatile cards that will work for most battle situations you encounter. For example, some truly versatile abilities include “Sneak, Opportunity, Shield, Heal, Tank Heal,” etc.

  • Play in Ranked Matches: The cards you specifically rent for “Tournaments” don’t necessarily have to stay there—use those cards to play in ranked battles so you can earn SPS and GLINT in the process and gradually recoup what you’ve spent, ensuring that the winnings you’ll likely earn in tournaments over time are just that: “Winnings.” Use GLINT to buy Chests or Draws and gradually build a deck with the reward cards.

How to Evaluate “Competitors” and Analyze Data?

One thing players don't do is analyze their opponents and gather data so they can make the most of the cards they have and gradually improve their game—so that in "Tournaments," they can be fully prepared to play and have a good chance of earning the biggest rewards possible.

With that in mind, we all know that information is “power,” so the first thing you need to look at is the “Matches” screen. This is necessary so you can see your opponent’s most recent battles, but let’s take it a step further:

How do I analyze this?

  • Interpreting Match Histories: When you're looking at your opponent's most recent battles, pay attention to whether they always play with a specific Splinter or frequently use a specific bloodline with a mechanical strategy. This is where you need to understand the pattern they're using and counter it.

  • Identify Patterns: This is where what I mentioned earlier comes into play. If a player always uses the same equipment, the same card, or a repetitive ability, you can counter it and figure out how to prevent them from gaining an advantage from it. So, here you essentially have the formula for always playing with a statistical advantage.

  • External Tools: One tool that can help you select the best cards from the set you need for your tournament is Splintiers.com. So, I recommend it so you can choose your cards wisely.

Conclusion

With this second part, you now know how to really tackle the “Tournaments” the right way—something that’s very important for maximizing your earnings and, of course, increasing your chances of winning battles, which is what will bring in the money. So, I hope you enjoyed it, since preparing for the “Tournaments” is crucial to succeeding in that game mode.
