Guilds in Splinterlands are a type of organization where a group of players come together to form a team and face off against other guilds for glory and victory. However, there’s much more to a guild than that, because, as an organization, as I like to think of it, it requires the collaboration of all members to level it up and reach the much-coveted “Tier 5”—the pinnacle of rewards and competitiveness in the game. Although that was the case at first, right now I don’t think it’s quite like that anymore; However, we need to assess the current landscape and determine whether it’s still worth playing “Guild Wars” today.
That’s why in this post we’ll take a look at the current state of this game mode, along with some interesting facts—such as the total amount of SPS that has been distributed in the guild war since rewards were introduced in this mode. On the other hand, there are many other aspects I’d like to cover, but a single post might not be enough—though I’ll try to share everything I want in this one post to provide the full current context for this game mode.
So, if you want to know how things stand right now and understand how the guilds work and all the details, stick around until the end of this post.

You can see that there are currently more than 2,000 active guilds—or presumably active ones—because the reality is that hundreds or thousands of them may be neglected, since only those at the very top have reached the maximum level and, in addition, have invested thousands or millions of DEC to upgrade the necessary buildings. However, I’m among those who believe that the true value right now doesn’t lie in the amount of SPS earned, but in completing the “Gladius” deck.
All of this allows approximately 60,000 players, organized into different guilds, to participate in battles against other guilds, where the competition centers on winning three types of assets or “items,” which are:
These three things are what we’re fighting for; however, I see it going a little further than that, since for me, the “Guilds” represent a school of battle where you specialize in different leagues, cards, strategies, skills, and playstyles—and where you have to force yourself to constantly reinvent yourself to achieve victory, because believe me, here you’re up against the best players in the entire game—just take a look at the “Top” players in the guilds, and you’ll see that most of them are whales, with hundreds of decks, etc.

Since SPS rewards were implemented in guilds, approximately 61,940,944.946 SPS have been distributed—about $208,032.53 at the current SPS price of around $0.003358. That might not seem like much, but let’s keep in mind that many of those SPS have been paid out at different prices, so the actual value players have been receiving has varied significantly over time. However, there’s another incredible calculation I’d like to present, which would be roughly the average payout per guild, considering that there are just over 2,000 guilds.

This is a very interesting question, and before I answer it, you first need to know the requirements and costs for upgrading guilds. I won’t go into too much detail about the actual costs, but I will cover what’s needed, so pay close attention, because if you’re thinking about creating a “Guild,” all this information is important. If you want to climb the “Tiers” and reach the highest level, you’ll need to upgrade your buildings—the most important of which are the “Guild Hall” and the “Arena.”
All of these upgrades or payments must be made using “Guild Power” (GP), which is obtained by burning DEC and DEC-B tokens. With that in mind, here’s what you need to do:

Core Infrastructure (Tier 1-2): Here, in order to progress and level up, investment focuses on Crowns and GP with the goal of unlocking the guild store.
Competitive Scaling (Tier 3-4): At this stage, costs increase significantly compared to the base level, so the entire organization should work together as a team, contributing a large amount of GP to achieve the objectives.
Max Level (Tier 5): At this point, you have to invest millions of GP, so it’s not possible for a single player to do it alone—all 30 members must be active. To earn as much as possible here, you need to win SPS and also build your “Gladius” deck.
Rewards
Generally speaking, these days, the rewards from a “Tier 5” guild are already pretty low—I’m not really sure exactly how much they are, maybe around 945 SPS, which might be a little low, but as I mentioned above, the real value lies in collecting and earning lots of “Merits” and completing the “Gladius” deck, which can help you not only in the “Guild War” but also in tournaments and ranked battles.

With all that in mind, playing in guilds doesn’t necessarily yield higher rewards—though it depends on which “Tier” they’re in. However, many guilds are already at “Tier 5,” so the rewards at that level are split among many guilds, which means the rewards are significantly diluted. Even so, it’s a great learning experience, and it’s definitely very interesting to play.

Pretty cool information and this reminded me to be more active in the Guild. Let the brawls begin!
