Splinterlands - Keeping an eye on the market for some bargains

Keeping an eye on the market in Splinterlands should be a routine as it could bring some bargains to have more powerful formations or leveling up existing ones. Whether you like or not, in order to evolve in this realm you just need to grow your deck and level it up for improved skills. Times when you would buy just a Starter Pack and few cards and keep on playing it is not doing it anymore as the competition is now more fierce than ever. We have a solid player base which stayed with the game since inception and which they probably stay with it as it evolves. And these OG players really like the game, really like to win and compete and you can do that only if you have an optimized deck. Thus, we need to watch the market and grab bargains when these appears considering that the game strategy is to have scarcity supply for cards, supply which now is thought to cover the bear market conditions and shine when the bull market hits.

Monitor card prices regularly

We all have some favorite cards, especially when it comes to Legendary for example. Through consistent monitoring of the market we can spot trends and identify undervalued cards, where our preferred cards can be part of. Prices can fluctuate due to changes in gameplay strategies, market sentiment, or new rulesets, so keeping a close eye can help you act quickly on a good deal. Whether if these can be played in Wild or Modern formation, I think a good objective is to be as powerful as to win it all. 😀

Focus on utility, not rarity

While rare and legendary cards are attractive, the most valuable cards are those that deliver strategic utility in battles which can be from the common rarities. I believe that we should look for cards with the abilities that we need, like healing, stun, or sneak, which can significantly improve the deck’s performance. And let's not forget the positioning in the formation - like we wouldn't need all the cards in the game that have Reach ability, but just one or two which are doing the job.

Make use of filtering and other market tools

When it comes to look at the market, we should make use of the in-game market filters, but also can use third-party tools like Splintercards or PeakMonsters to identify cards within our budget which match specific needs. By sorting cards by mana cost, abilities, or splinter, we can find hidden gems that fit perfectly into our deck. We need to strategy, we need to wait and see, but good deals will come our way.

Watch for newly listed cards or trade them

New card listings often come from players looking for quick sales, and these can sometimes be undervalued compared to the broader market. Check the market frequently for fresh listings and be ready to snag a bargain. Also when new edition are launched in the beginning the cards supply is scarce and prices are over evaluated. If we get our hands on such cards, we can trade them in the beginning and buy later the same cards at lower prices or even better cards.

Pay attention to new gameplay rules

Certain cards may increase in value or utility based on new rulesets or changes to gameplay mechanics. Identifying these trends early can help us purchase impactful cards before their prices rise. And these should get us the advantage on the battlefield and help us win more rewards.

In Splinterlands, the market offers opportunities for those willing to put in the time and effort to monitor it. By focusing on utility, keeping up with new game rules and using different tools to uncover undervalued cards, we can optimize our deck without overspending. Success in this game comes down to strategy both on and off the battlefield, and playing the market is a critical piece of the puzzle. Happy hunting, and may you find the bargains that lead to numerous wins!
