As I wrote in another post, over the past few months my activity on Hive has decreased, but only as far as publishing content is concerned.
For the rest, in fact, I have continued working on my various small projects and trying to manage my tokens and NFTs as best as possible.
Obviously, this means that I haven't lost sight of Splinterlands, where, although I haven't played a game in years by now, I still own around forty dollars' worth of cards and around a hundred dollars between SPS and DEC...
... at least until today!
After some careful and well-thought-out analysis — which will obviously turn out to be a colossal mistake, like all my decisions in this sector 🤣 — I decided to sell all the DEC I had accumulated — obtained mainly through renting and selling my cards — to buy SPS.
There are two reasons that led me to do it, although one is actually counterbalanced by a reason not to do it... so in reality, there is only one real reason.
Let's start with the first reason:
DEC is in fact roughly halfway to its peg, and the flywheel mechanism makes it difficult to imagine it going beyond that.
However, the opposite is also true: in the event of a decrease in value, DEC would probably be better able to preserve its value, since on the Splinterlands website it can still always be used for various purchases as if it were at its peg value.
In short, this reason alone wasn't enough to make a decision...
... and that's why we move on to the second one!
Since I unstaked my SPS and moved both it and DEC out of Hive-Engine, I have been looking for cross-chain arbitrage opportunities in an attempt to make some profit while also increasing the amount of SPS and DEC I own.
Over time, I managed to achieve both goals, earning much more than I would have by simply keeping my SPS staked.
In addition to adding a few hundred SPS and a few thousand DEC to my portfolio, I was able to accumulate profits in USDC, which I summarized in this chart using a script:

What emerges from these figures is not only that in less than 7 months I achieved a 35% return — to which the extra SPS and DEC earned should also be added — but also that 20% of this gain can be attributed to SPS, while only 15% came from DEC.
SPS therefore proved to be 33% more profitable than DEC.
This is what led me to make today's decision, convincing me to exchange all my DEC for SPS.
I therefore swapped almost 105k DEC for 13k SPS on BSC.
These SPS are thus added to the approximately 12k I already held on Base...
... bringing the total to — almost — 25k SPS!
Not a bad milestone at all, which also brings me closer with this token to my long-term goal: 100,000 SPS.
I now have around 33k HIVE and 25k SPS, not bad numbers at all, and I aim to increase them further over the coming months and years.

If you've read this far, thank you! If you want to leave an upvote, a reblog, a follow, a comment... well, any sign of life is really much appreciated!
If you are not registered on Splinterlands ... well, you are still in time to do the right thing
And if you want to find out how much each card in Splinterlands yields on the rental market, you can now do so via SplinterROI.
Hey!, welcome back, was wondering where u went, but I see you have been busy.
You got a nice DEC:SPS ratio too, so a good time to swap DEC to SPS.
Good Luck with your ventures.
I sent you an invite to Hive Grove if ur not playing yet...it's a seed tree, water it every 24hrs and claim Hive, either liquid or powered up, it fairly new, I think about 2 months, it looks sustainable and is very simple but engaging...the campfire and leader board missions is where the fun is, I've made back over 30% of the Hive I spent on trees so far
Nice! 😎
13k sps and now 25k sps in total is big milestone! 👊😏
