Umbral Elemental – My New Card Buying Experience
Today a new card has been added my Splinterlands game collection. The card I bought this time is Umbral Elemental. When I bought the card, I felt that it was not just a card to keep in the collection, but could play a very good role in Battle in the right situation. So in today's article, I am sharing the reasons for buying this card from my own experience and feelings and how I want to use it in the future.
One thing I have realized while playing Splinterlands is that to create a good Battle Deck, you don't just need to have a few strong cards. You have to select cards according to different Mana Cost, Attack Type, Ability and Battle Rules. Sometimes even a card that doesnt seem very important at the beginning can change outcome Battle. For me, Umbral Elemental is very much that kind card.
Reasons for buying the Umbral Elemental card
When I was looking card the first thing that caught my attention was its 9 Mana Cost. course 9 Mana is not less. Before spending 9 Mana on a Battle, I have think about the balance the entire team. But on the other hand, the card's Health and Defensive Stats are quite good, so I found it interesting.
The card I bought is the Regular Version. As you can see in the picture, I spent a total of 851.43 DEC to buy this card. I think this purchase could be a good decision from two perspectives: collecting a new card for future Battles and strengthening my collection.
Especially since I play Splinterlands regularly, when buying new cards, my goal is to collect cards that I can use in different types of Battles later.
Even if a card doesn't have a lot of Attack, if its Defense is good, it can last a little longer in Battle. And how long a card can survive on the field in a battle is also a very important issue.
I found this card's 4 Armor to be quite effective. Especially in battles where the enemy's Physical Attack is high, Armor can help deal with the first blow. Then there is 7 Health, which creates a fairly good Defensive Base for Level 1.
However, due to the 9 Mana Cost, I will not use this card in all battles. If the mana is high, there will be more opportunities to use it. But if the mana is low, taking a card with 9 Mana can weaken the entire team composition a bit.
It will be better if you increase the level
Another thing I like about this card is that its Stats and Ability increase as the level increases.
Similarly, Speed also increases at later levels. Armor also gets stronger from Level 4 to Level 5 and 5 Armor at Level 6. Health, however, is 7 from Level 1 to 6.
The most important thing is that the card's Ability also increases as the level increases. In the picture, one Ability is shown at Level 1 and more Abilities are gradually added at the later levels. I find this very important. Because the real power of a card is often not just in Attack or Health, but also in its Ability.
How do I want to use it in Battle
I am not thinking of using Umbral Elemental as just a normal Attacker. Due to its good Armor and Health, I want to place it in a Position where it can withstand some Damage according to the situation.
However, before choosing a Position, you must check the Battle Rules. Not every Battle in Splinterlands is the same. Sometimes you have to use a specific Attack Type, sometimes there is a special advantage over Melee Attack, and sometimes a specific Ability or Position becomes very important.
So for me, the biggest advantage of Umbral Elemental is that I have to think about it according to the battle situation. I can't just use it because it's strong. I also have to look at which Summoner I'm using it with what other cards I am putting in team and what kind team my opponent can build.
New addition to my collection
I really like collecting cards in Splinterlands. Every time I buy new card I feel like my collection is getting more complete.
I felt the same way after buying Umbral Elemental. I am especially happy have it added my collection, especially since it an Epic Card.
I think that even if I can't make the most this card right now, I can improve its power by increasing its level in the future. I also plan gradually collect more copies and upgrade it.
Final words
Overall, I'm quite happy with my decision to buy Umbral Elemental today. I added this card to my collection by spending 851.43 DEC. The card's 9 Mana Cost, 2 Attack, 2 Speed, 4 Armor and 7 Health attracted me the most. In addition, the fact that Stats and Ability improve with Level also seemed important to me.
I know that it is not possible to win a Battle just by buying a new card. As a good player, I have to build a team by understanding the rules, mana, and possible strategies each battle. From that point I want gradually bring Umbral Elemental into my battle strategy.
Todays purchase may be small part my Splinterlands Journey but for me every new card is an opportunity learn something new. After battling with this card in the future, I may understand better how effective its power really is.
