Today I made another card purchase in Splinterlands and this time I added Rexxie to my collection. I was really happy with this purchase because Rexxie is a card that I believe can become an useful part of my Earth team. This time Rexxie caught my attention because of its attack, good health and useful abilities at higher levels.

The card I purchased is a Common Earth Unit with a 7 Mana cost. At Level 1 Rexxie has 4 melee attack, 3 speed and 6 health. Even though the mana cost is not very low I think the stats make the card worth considering in battles where I have mana available. A strong melee attacker can be very important especially when I build a team around protecting my damage dealers.

The purchase screen showed that I bought one Rexxie for a cost of 231.60 DEC. For me buying a card is not about using it immediately. I also think about how useful that card can become after leveling it up. That is one of the reasons I decided to purchase Rexxie. Looking at the statistics I can see that this card has a lot of room to improve.

At Level 1 Rexxie starts with 4 attack and 6 health. When I look at the levels the card becomes much more interesting. At Level 2 it reaches 5 attack while later levels increase its health and attack further. At Level 4 Rexxie has 5 attack and 7 health. This is also where the card gains an ability. At Level 5 it continues to improve and at the levels it becomes a much stronger attacker with 6 melee attack and up to 12 health.
The leveling system is one of the things I enjoy most about Splinterlands. Buying a card may be the beginning but collecting more copies and upgrading it can completely change how useful that card becomes. Looking at Rexxies statistics I feel that leveling this card in the future could be a good investment for my Earth collection.
Another thing I like about Rexxie is its melee attack. Melee cards are especially useful when placed in the position because they can attack the enemy tank directly. However the best position always depends on the ruleset, mana limit and other cards in the lineup. I would normally consider using Rexxie near the front of my team when I need a melee attacker and when its health is enough to survive against the opponent.
At Level 1 I need to be a little careful because 6 health is not extremely high for a 7-Mana tank. If the opponent has magic or ranged damage Rexxie could lose health quickly. Because of this I would like to combine Rexxie with cards that can provide support, healing, armor or additional protection.
The Earth element gives me different options for building a team around Rexxie. I can choose a tank in front place Rexxie behind it and then add support and damage-dealing cards in the back. Depending on the battle rules Rexxie could also become the frontline attacker if I think it can survive long enough.
I also like the fact that Rexxie has potential at higher levels. The statistics shown on the card page gave me an idea of how much stronger it can become. At Level 10 Rexxie reaches 6 attack, 4 speed and 12 health which's a significant improvement compared with Level 1. Its estimated power also becomes much higher. Course reaching the highest level requires collecting many copies so I will take that step slowly.
I also like collecting cards that can become more useful as my collection grows. Sometimes a card may not look extremely powerful at its level but after several upgrades it can become a completely different type of asset for the team. That is how I am looking at Rexxie. I do not want to judge the card by its Level 1 statistics. I want to see what it can do after I gradually improve it.
The ability shown at the levels is another reason why I am interested in upgrading this card. So for me reaching the levels where Rexxie receives its ability will be a part of using this card.
Another important point is that Rexxie is currently playable in Wild and Survival according to the purchase screen.
The purchase itself was also exciting for me. Every time I buy a card I feel that my collection is becoming stronger. It may be one card but each card adds another possibility to my strategy. Sometimes a battle can be decided by having the right card available for a ruleset so expanding my collection is important to me.
Rexxie also has an attractive design. The card shows a green dinosaur-like creature with a strong and aggressive appearance. The artwork immediately caught my attention. I enjoy collecting cards that're not only useful in battles but also look interesting in my collection.
My next plan is to use Rexxie in battles and understand where it performs best. I want to test it with Earth summoners and support cards. I also want to see whether it works better as a frontline attacker or as an attacker behind another tank. Real battle experience will help me understand the card better than simply looking at its statistics.
Overall I am very happy with my decision to purchase Rexxie. It gives me another option for my Earth team and also gives me a long-term upgrading goal. The card already has statistics at Level 1 and its potential at higher levels makes it even more interesting.
I am really happy with this addition, to my collection. Rexxie is now part of my Earth team. I am excited to see how much value this card can bring to my future battles. This purchase may be one small step but for me every small step helps make my Splinterlands collection stronger and more enjoyable.
