Hello, Splinterlands Community!
I am again with another update from my Splinterlands journey. Today I would like to share something about a card that I recently decided to purchase from the Splinterlands market. The name of this card is Peaceful Giant. Although it is a Neutral monster I believe it can become a useful addition to my collection especially when I need a monster that can withstand enemy attacks and protect the other cards on my team.

Every time I purchase a card I feel that I am making another small step toward improving my account. My goal is not simply to collect many cards as possible. I want to build a collection with different types of monsters so that I can have more choices when preparing my battle lineups. Peaceful Giant caught my attention because of its characteristics and I thought it would be worth adding to my collection.
My Peaceful Giant Purchase

I purchased one copy of Peaceful Giant for a price of 116.42 DEC. It is a Neutral monster with a mana cost of 5. One thing I particularly like about cards is that they can provide additional flexibility when building teams. Since they are not restricted to an element they can be considered alongside different summoners and other monsters depending on the available battle conditions.
At its level Peaceful Giant has 1 Speed, 0 Armor and 8 Health. It does not have an attack value or any displayed ability at this level. Looking at these statistics it is clear that this monster is designed around surviving attacks than dealing damage to opponents.
Eight Health is a starting point for a five-mana monster. Even though it cannot directly attack enemies at its level its ability to remain on the battlefield can still be useful in the right situation.
Why I Chose This Card
When selecting cards for my collection I try to consider more than their attacking power. Sometimes a battle is decided by how my monsters can survive rather than how much damage they can deal.
This is one of the reasons I became interested in Peaceful Giant.
In Splinterlands the position of each monster matters. A monster with Health can sometimes protect more important members of the team by taking incoming attacks. If I place Peaceful Giant in a position it may help absorb damage while my other monsters focus on attacking the opponent.
Course this card will not be suitable for every battle. Since it has no attack at its level I need to think carefully before including it in my lineup. However there are situations where having a monster can be more valuable than adding another attacker.
Understanding Its Statistics and Level Progression
One thing I noticed while checking the cards statistics is how its Health increases as it reaches higher levels.

Here is the Health progression shown in the card statistics:
Level 1: 8 Health
Level 2: 9 Health
Level 3: 10 Health
Level 4: 11 Health
Level 5: 12 Health
Level 6: 13 Health
Level 7: 14 Health
Level 8: 15 Health
Level 9: 16 Health
Level 10: 17 Health
This progression gives me another reason to consider collecting copies in the future.
At the level Peaceful Giant already has 8 Health. However reaching levels gradually increases its ability to survive attacks. At Level 5 it reaches 12 Health while at the Level 10 it has 17 Health.
That is an improvement compared with its starting statistics.
Course upgrading a card requires additional copies and resources so I will not rush the process. I prefer to purchase cards and improve my collection according to my available budget.
My long-term goal is to strengthen my account and eventually upgrade more of my cards.
The Importance of Defensive Monsters
If the frontline falls quickly the remaining monsters may not get enough time to perform their roles.
This is where defensive monsters can make a difference.
Peaceful Giant may not be a monster but I do not think every card needs to be an attacker to have value.
My Future Plans for This Card
For now I have purchased one copy of Peaceful Giant. I am looking forward to seeing how it performs in actual battles.
I would also like to collect copies whenever I find a suitable opportunity in the market. My intention is to increase its level and improve its Health.
I know that upgrading cards takes time especially when I am also trying to purchase monsters and summoners for my collection. However I enjoy this process because every new purchase gives me another opportunity to experiment with strategies.
I also noticed a detail on the purchase screen. Peaceful Giant is playable in Wild and Survival formats. A Wild Pass is required to access Wild Ranked play. This is something players should keep in mind before purchasing the card particularly if they mainly participate in battle formats.
Splinterlands has become one of my games because there is always something new to explore. After playing for a long time I still discover cards, abilities and strategies that make me think differently about team building.
Sometimes I purchase a card because it has attacking statistics. Times I choose a monster because I believe it can fill a particular role in my team.
Peaceful Giant belongs to the category.
It may not look like the attacking monster but its defensive potential makes it interesting to me. I want to test it in situations and understand where it can contribute most effectively.
I also believe that building a collection is a gradual process. I do not expect every card I purchase to become a part of every battle. Instead I want to have variety to respond to different rulesets mana limits and opponents.
That is what makes collecting cards enjoyable for me.
Final Thoughts
Overall I am happy with my decision to purchase Peaceful Giant for 116.42 DEC. It is another addition to my growing Splinterlands collection. I hope it will become useful in my future battles.
Its five-mana cost, 8 Health at Level 1 and potential to reach 17 Health at Level 10 make it an interesting defensive option. I understand that it has limitations especially because it does not have an attack or displayed ability at its level. Nevertheless I believe there is room to experiment with it in battle situations.
My journey, in Splinterlands continues and I will keep working toward building a collection. Every card I purchase brings a little excitement and gives me another reason to explore new strategies.
I am looking forward to using Peaceful Giant on the battlefield and discovering how value it can bring to my team.
Thank you to everyone for taking the time to read about my Splinterlands purchase. Happy battling, everyone!
