Facials were innumerable, eyes,
The pain was in all,
Everyone had known the brunt of life,
But only two,
I flashed in my mind
Why?
Did they have extra pain
Which I ever familiar with me in the past,
Or there was some shadow in me,
Which I read in the eyes,
That we always in others,
Know and unknowingly
Read yourself?
I do not know who they had eyes,
Don't understand then see them
Introducing the mind to mind,
no one did the enterprise,
But the flake of that
Shows me again and again
Facial innumerable, eyes innumerable,
All who are painful
But I could not see the one I did not see before,
The same unfamiliar two eyes,
All the eyes are with all the eyes,
all the pains Of my image...
Wow what a fascinating poem. It's very deep, somber, and yet relatable all the same.
That last Stanza is especially haunting.
