I don't know if it will still rain or it's probably raining somewhere and we're just feeling the heavy breeze, gloomy weather, either way, it's best to find something interesting to do to elevate my spirit and take my mind off the weather, and what better way than engaging in some sewing for my little one.

Rearranging my sewing space, I gathered some leftover fabrics from previous projects and decided to put them into good use, using one of the ankara fabrics I found,

I made a 2-piece Kimono blouse and palazzo trousers for my daughter, they are already the holiday season, and also as a reward for doing well in her last term exams, she surely deserves the gift of a new outfit made by Mummy. So without further ado, let's get right into the making process.

Materials Used

• Ankara fabric

• Matching coloured thread

Cutting And Sewing Process

• To make the blouse, I cut out the blouse kimono pattern, meaning it was cut together with the sleeves, the front has a V-neckline while the back has a rounded neckline

• Next, I cut out a bias strip, using the same ankara fabric

• Using the strip cut in bias, I piped the neckline of the front and back neatly, concealing the rough cut-out edges.

• I also folded the sleeve hem

• Then I joined the front and back by the shoulders and the sides, and that completed the making process of the blouse.

Moving on to the trousers

• I cut out the trouser pattern for both the front and back. The back pattern is cut bigger than the front

• Continuing, I joined the crotch area of both the front and back

• Then proceeded to join the sides of the front and back together. I also joined the inseam area

• I folded the waist area and passed an elastic waistband around it.

• Finally, I hemmed the base of the trousers, and that completes the making process of the two-piece ankara top and trousers.
