Hello lovely creators on Hive, hope you all are having a splendid week going.

It's one thing to be passionate about something and another thing to be dedicated to putting in your best to get an excellent result at** what you do, of course, it's a gradual process, and that's the encouragement that keeps you going no matter the challenges that may come up in your journey with that passion of yours.

Well, I got a good and special encouragement this week, last week I shared the making process of a beautiful dress I made in a rush for my sister who had an event, a wedding ceremony of her colleague to attend the next day, I was tired, especially after having a stressful week, and she initially thought of giving up on attending the ceremony but trust me not to turn down the offer of making a beautiful dress, and as they say, all things works for good in the end, and that dress I made proved that exactly.

My sister couldn't stop gushing about the compliments she received at the wedding ceremony and to crown it all, she made me a new client who is also a colleague of hers, she had asked about the designer of her dress, and she proudly replied that her sister made her outfit, and without wasting time gave her my number. I was happy when I received her call and she requested that I make her a dress with a similar style as my sister's, as she has another wedding event to attend this weekend.

I was more than excited to start this new week's project, and today I will be sharing the process with us, as I just completed making the dress.

Materials used

• Lace Fabric
• Velvet fabric
• Satin fabric

Cutting and Sewing Process

• I used a buster pattern with an underbust cut, to make the front upper side of the dress, the bust area has the lace fabric, while the plain black velvet fabric was used for the underbust to the waist area

• The upper back side is just a normal back bodice

• While the lower part of the dress was drafted using a straight skirt pattern.

• I joined the patterns together and also turned it with the satin fabric which is used as the lining fabric.

• Before joining the upper side of the front to the lower part, I trimmed out a slanted effect from the waist to the hip.

• I also joined the back after turning and sewed in the zipper.

• Next, I joined both front and back together by the sides with the seam allowance left.

• Finally the sleeves, which were made using the velvet fabric, I out the length which was removed to get the off shoulder, with a width of 10 inches, then gathered both ends before sewing them to both sides of the arm area.
