I designed a stylish corporate skirt at less cost

Hope you all are having a lovely week, well, so far for me it has been hectic, fun hectic though since sewing tends to take the most part of my days, I'm glad I've been able to bring some to a conclusion, one of which is the corporate straight skirt I made for my younger sister yet again,

since I made the promise of revamping her wardrobe to suite her current lifestyle as an office worker, she has got me moving from one project to the other which I'm happy to obliged to.

One clothing office workers can't do without is a corporate skirt, you know how beautiful ladies look when they wear a shirt, straight midi skirt on stilettos, very beautiful and fashionable. She intended to buy the skirts before while I worked on her Friday wears, but the price sent her running back to me lol, this design I recreated, for instance, is sold for about 15 HBD but I recreated the exact style with the same quality crepe fabric and spent just 4HBD in total including transport cost to the market, the reason why making one's cloth is more fun and cost-effective, I get to customize the style anyhow I want, if you are a creative person like me, consider yourself lucky with your chosen talent.

Materials needed to make this skirt include;

• Black Crepe Fabric (I bought 2 yards but didn't exhaust all)

• Matching colored thread

• Soft and medium strength interfacing.

Cutting and Sewing Process

• The first step was drafting and cutting out the skirt's front and back pattern.

• For the design in front, I cut out four pieces of the triangular-shaped design, two for each side which would be used in turning each other inside out for a clean finish.

• Next, I cut out this square-shaped pattern, which I folded and sewed the sides to form a welt pocket.

• Here is how it looks, I ironed the soft interfacing to the wrong side of the triangular-shaped design.

• Continuing, I cut out and attached the waistband to the front and back skirt pattern, I did the same to its lining part before turning it.

• Here is its almost finished look, almost because I'm yet to give it a good press and hem the base, still waiting for our epileptic power to be restored, hopefully soon, to finalize the finishing touch.
