Hey lovelies ❤️
It's your favorite girl @debbie-ese 😍
Welcome to my blog 🤗
As a fashion designer, one of the golden moments in the job is when a customer try out their outfit and smile with satisfaction. There is a kind of joy that comes from meeting the expectations of your customers. I'm sure everyone who provides one service or the other can also relate to this feeling I'm talking about. It is a confirmation that all the long hours and energy you have put into making the craft is worth it.
Well, it has not always been like this for me. I have not always have that confidence when customers come in for fitting. I can recall the early days of my fashion business when I was fresh out of my apprenticeship and I started making outfits for one or two people. I would stand nervously with my heart skipping and hoping not to get a negative comment. I lacked confidence at that point even when I know I had checked all the details carefully multiple times.
Over the years, I can boldy say my confidence have increased because I have not only learn how to sew but how to pay attention to details especially with different body types and the preference of each customer. Each customers sublty express what they want when they describe the kind of outfit they want so it is important to listen carefully and attentively. I have once shared that I made a dress for a woman and she was not pleased at all because I didn't make the cleavage revealing as it was in the reference image she showed me. I assumed she would not want it to be too revealing but I was wrong. Since that day, I ask questions about customers specifications and do exactly what they want.
In recent times, I look forward to customers come for fittings and often times it all end in smiles and positive remarks. And in any case when there is going to be any complaints, they are mostly minor ones that can be fixed in no time.
To sum this up, I would like to encourage any fashion designer or anyone who renders services to people who still work with fear that your confidence will grow with consistency and paying attention to little details. Sooner or later, you will begin to create crafts that there will be no complaints.
Now let me walk you through the process of making this stunning a-line gown with ankara fabrics.
