Hello everyone, I’m here to share with you all these floral headbands I made for my little sister. She wasn’t well throughout the whole of this academic term and had to go to the hospital so many times. I told her if she does well in her exams, I’ll buy her whatever she wanted. I was surprised to see her report card and exams papers today. For someone who was at the hospital most of the time, she really outdid herself.
Just like any 7 year old, I was expecting her to tell me she wanted a doll but she told me she wanted champagne! Yeah you heard that right. That wasn’t all. She also wanted “flowers headbands”(floral headbands).
I got right to work after she told me about the headbands because I knew I wouldn’t be around by tomorrow. She wanted two but I made three just to show her how proud I am of her.
The materials I used;
• leftover yarns
• 1.60mm hook
• a pair of scissors.
Procedure
I made the daisy part by making a magic ring in yellow and then I made 15 double crochets in the magic ring. I slip stitched this and then cut the yarn with a scissors.
I changed the colour to white and then I first made three treble crochet in first three stitches and then 4 chains. The next thing I did was to making three more treble crochets but I started on the last stitch that contained the third treble crochet.(For treble crochet, you yarn over twice and then you pull through the 6 loops three times. You will do this by pulling through 2 loops at a time)
I moved to the last part where I made the square part. I changed the yarn to a different color and then made 5 double crochets in the spaces that were made created by the chains.
I chained one and into the next space, I made two double crochet, a treble crochet, 3 chains, a treble crochet and two double crochets. This was done at the four corners to give it that square shape.
I repeated this pattern till I was done with the square.
I now attached the squares together and then made a decreasing block at the ends. I did that by making half double crochet and then decreasing each row by one stitch at the ends.
I made a chain at the ends so they could be used to tie the heads.
I was going to make one in orange but I changed my mind and substituted that with brown.
The result.
Honestly, I thought this was going to be difficult because of the details that a floral headband needs. I’m glad I still pulled this off for my girl. Projects like these make me really happy because they end up in the hands of a loved one and that means a lot to me. It’s sad I won’t be here to see the smiles on her face after she wakes up to see this, I’ll still find a way to get her reaction.
Thank you for your time.

She deserves the extra headband you made for her. For her to perform well with her studies even after the frequent experience in the hospital, yeah it is well deserved. You made really beautiful headbands for her.
